It’s Kind of a Funny Story is an enjoyable comedy directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who were responsible for the quirky drama Half Nelson, and stars Zach Galifianakis, Emma Roberts, Keir Gilchrist, and Viola Davis.
Adapted from Ned Vizzini’s 2006 novel, and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (both directed Sugar & Half Nelson), this film follows the teenage dramas and emotions of 16 year old Craig (Keir Gilchrist) as he checks himself into Brooklyn’s 3 North, an adult psychiatric ward, suffering from the pressures of adolescent life. A workaholic father, looming college application, love and personal shortcomings in the shadow of his awesome best friend Aaron (Thomas Mann – Inspector Mom) all contribute to Craig’s decision to section himself for the night. When the hospital’s minimum stay of five days is revealed, Craig isn’t so sure of his decision – but by then it’s too late!
The film was released on DVD this week and we’ve got five copies to give away to our readers. All you need to do is answer the followin question in the forum below.
