Roland Emmerich returns to blockbuster territory this summer, bringing us White House Down, the second of the year’s action-packed movies centred on an attack on the White House.
With an all-star leading cast, topped by Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, the film is pretty much guaranteed to be a hit when it lands this summer.
The first trailer debuted just over a month ago, giving us an awesome first look at the movie. And with its US release date fast approaching at the end of next month, Sony have debuted another brilliant action-packed trailer.

In Columbia Pictures’ White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.
Tatum, Foxx, and Gyllenhaal star alongside a great cast, led by Jason Clarke, James Woods, Richard Jenkins, Jake Weber, Lance Reddick, and Joey King.
Emmerich is directing from a script by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man).
White House Down will be hitting US theatres on June 28th, with its UK release date set for a little later in the year on 6th September. But it looks like it’s going to be well worth the extra wait.
