White-House-Down-Teaser-PosterLed by Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, White House Down promises to be a very strong contender in the height of the blockbuster season this year.

Antoine Fuqua’s similarly-plotted action-thriller, Olympus Has Fallen, did impressively well at the US box office over the weekend, taking a strong position at #2. And smart money says that Emmerich’s latest blockbuster will be heading for the top spot.

The first trailer is expected to land later today. And after catching the first teaser poster last night, two new posters have surfaced, giving us another look at the calm before the storm.

In Columbia Pictures’ White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.

Tatum, Foxx, and Gyllenhaal are joined by a terrific cast, led by Jason Clarke, James Woods, Richard Jenkins, Jake Weber, Lance Reddick, and Joey King.

Emmerich is directing from a script by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man), who has quickly risen to recognition in Hollywood in recent years.

White House Down is set to be released on June 28th in the US, with its UK release date currently set for 6th September. For now, here are the latest teaser posters. And be sure to come back later when the first trailer hits.
