Kristen-Bell-on-set-of-the-Veronica-Mars-MovieEarlier this year, Kristen Bell and co. launched one of the most successful Kickstarter campaigns in the history of the site, raising just shy of $6m. in a month, to bring to life the Veronica Mars movie.

The original programme began back in 2004, and was cancelled after just three seasons on the air.

Word soon began on a possible Veronica Mars movie, and now it’s finally come to fruition. Production officially began earlier in the month, and now EW have the first official behind-the-scenes still from the set, giving us a look at Bell returning to her beloved role.

A new case draws Veronica Mars back to her hometown of Neptune, CA, just in time for her ten-year high school reunion.

Bell will be returning alongside a number of familiar faces, including Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, Tina Majorino, Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowell, Sam Huntington, Amanda Noret, Daran Norris, and Ken Marino.

Rob Thomas, the original creator/director for the show, is making his feature directorial debut on the movie. And he’s directing from a script he co-wrote with Diane Ruggiero (Veronica Mars, Dirty Sexy Money).

No word yet on exactly when the Veronica Mars movie will be coming to cinemas, but it’s expected to premiere sometime in early 2014.
