Transformers:-Age-of-Extinction-Teaser-PosterIt’s been on the calendar for about a year and a half, and now Transformers 4 has officially been titled. Next summer, we’ll all be heading out to the multiplex to see Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Bay revealed the title through his site, along with the first teaser poster, which bears a similar logo that has been used since last November.

The name seems to tease the appearance of the Dinobots in the upcoming blockbuster sequel, something which producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has recently confirmed.

Whereas the Autobots and Decepticons transform into vehicles and machines, and similar objects, the Dinobots (as you might imagine) instead have a transformation mode which sees them turn into dinosaurs. And you’d better believe that that’s going to make for a visually impressive action blockbuster under Bay’s direction next summer.

Whilst the official synopsis remains under wraps, it is known that Transformers: Age of Extinction will take place four years on from Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and will launch a new trilogy for Paramount.

Mark Wahlberg is reuniting with his Pain & Gain director for the movie, starring alongside Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, Titus Welliver, and T.J. Miller, with Bay directing from a script penned by Ehren Kruger (Transformers: Dark of the Moon).

Transformers: Age of Extinction will be hitting cinemas on June 27th, 2014, and is currently set to open unopposed. Given that the last film took more than a billion dollars, it’s likely that weekend will stay relatively open for the titan blockbuster.
