With less than three weeks to go until the release of Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games, we’re looking at the home stretch of the ad campaign that has been brilliantly promoting the film over the past few months.

We heard last week that the tracking numbers for Gary Ross’ adaptation of the first in Suzanne Collins’ original novel trilogy are pretty big, and could rival the release of the first Twilight film, which would be very impressive.

We’ve now got three great new images from the film to share with you ahead of its release at the end of the month, courtesy of EW, giving us new looks at Jennifer Lawrence as the heroine Katniss Everdeen, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Wes Bentley, and some of the younger cast, Isabelle Fuhrman, Alexander Ludwig, Jack Quaid, and Leven Rambin.

“In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.”

Along with the cast you can see below, we can also look forward to what will no doubt be fantastic performances from Elizabeth Banks, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Willow Shields, Amandla Stenberg, and Lenny Kravitz.

The Hunger Games will be out on 23rd March, in regular and IMAX cinemas, and if you’re only just coming to the game now, you can catch up on all our coverage for the film right here. It looks like it should be a pretty sweet ride. As usual with these new images, you can click to enlarge.
