One of the biggest unexpected additions to the cast of Thor: The Dark World was the lovable Chris O’Dowd. The actor has been gaining recognition brilliantly more and more in recent years, but Hollywood blockbusters aren’t exactly typical amongst his credits.
It goes without saying that we’re looking forward to seeing him crop up in the film, even if it’s only a small cameo, going out on a date with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster. And now Marvel has released a new clip, teasing just that scene.
Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Chris Hemsworth is front and centre once more as the eponymous hero, with Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Christopher Eccleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Tadanobu Asano, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, O’Dowd, and Rene Russo starring alongside him.
Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) is at the helm, directing from a script co-written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: The First Avenger) and Christopher Yost (The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes).
