The-Worlds-End-Character-Poster-Simon-PeggEdgar Wright’s highly anticipated The World’s End brings to a close the awesome trilogy begun by Shaun of the Dead back in 2004 and continued by 2007’s Hot Fuzz.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are naturally back for the final outing, this time bringing to the big screen the green mint choc-chip flavour of the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy.

We saw an awesome new trailer launch a few weeks back. And with just over a month before the film hits our cinemas, we’ve got a great new set of character posters to share.

20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

Pegg and Frost are joined by another brilliant cast, led by Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, and Rosamund Pike.

Wright is directing from a script he co-wrote with Pegg once more, and I have a very good feeling this is going to be a favourite film of the year for a lot of us.

The World’s End will be released in the UK on 19th July, with its US release date following shortly after on August 23rd. As we count down the weeks, here are the six new character posters, which you can click through to enlarge.
