Fox have been doing a brilliant job over the past few months in raising the anticipation for The Wolverine.
Hugh Jackman returns to the role for which we all know and love him, and you can’t help but feel that it’s going to be one of the best blockbusters of the year.
One of the best things about the film’s campaign in recent months has been the ink character posters, which have been so loved by the general public that Fox have reportedly had a marketing problem, with many posters being stolen from bus shelters across the Atlantic.
So far, we’ve seen brilliant character posters for Wolverine, Silver Samurai, Viper and Yukio, and most recently a familiar face. And now three new ink / sumi-e character posters have surfaced for Shingen, Mariko, and Harada, along with a great new international poster.
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
Starring alongside Jackman will be a brilliant cast, led by Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto, Will Yun Lee, Hal Yamanouchi, Brian Tee, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.
James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma) is directing from a script co-written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) and Mark Bomback (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes).
The Wolverine will be released in 3D on 25th July in the UK, and will follow a day later in the US on July 26th. This is guaranteed to be awesome.
