Eaoifa-Forward-in-The-SnareArguably above all other genres, the horror is one that we know how to do best on our shores. The British horror industry continues to bring us some of the best films in the genre, and with Hammer recently getting its scare back, we’ve got plenty more to look forward to in the years to come. And if this first trailer for the micro-budgeted film, The Snare, is anything to go by, newcomer writer-director C.A. Cooper is very much one to watch.

With two shorts under his belt already, Cooper makes his first foray into the world of features here, and it’s shaping up to be a promising debut. If you didn’t know it, you really wouldn’t think this was made on a budget of £4,000.

Three students head to the seafront for a drunken weekend, only to be imprisoned on the top floor of their holiday apartment by a malevolent paranormal force.

A vicious, brutal, deranged psychological horror.

Eaoifa Forward, Dan Paton, and Rachel Warren take the lead as the young trio, with Renate Morley completing the cast.

Cooper is directing from his own script here, reuniting with Forward after working with her on his 2012 sophomore short, Half Dead.

No word yet on exactly when or where we can expect to see The Snare surface, but it’s expected to land sometime this spring, so keep your eyes peeled.
