Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger may have had some problems on the tracks going through production, but everything we’ve seen from the film so far suggests that the blockbuster has long since put those troubles behind it, and we’re expecting great things when it hits this summer.
With only a month and a half to go before the film hits the big screen, Disney have debuted a great new trailer over on Apple, giving us another flavour for the action and adventure we have coming our way soon.
Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice–taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
Armie Hammer takes the eponymous lead as John Reid / The Lone Ranger, with Johnny Depp starring opposite him as Tonto. And joining the two is a terrific cast, led by Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, and Ruth Wilson.
Verbinski is directing from a script written by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott, who penned all four of the Pirates films, and Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road).
The music in this trailer has a brilliant feel to it, very much channelling the adventurous feel of the Pirates music so brilliantly scored by Hans Zimmer for the second, third, and fourth films. Zimmer has reunited with Verbinski, Depp, and co. to write the music for The Lone Ranger, and you can pretty much guarantee the score is going to be awesome.
The Lone Ranger will be released on July 3rd in the US, with its UK release date following soon after on 9th August. Here’s the latest trailer to get you into an explosively adventurous frame of mind. Enjoy.
