The-Lone-Ranger-Character-Poster-Armie-HammerOf the many blockbusters coming our way this summer, Gore Verbinski’s The Lone Ranger promises to be one of the biggest and the best. Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp lead a terrific cast, and things have definitely been looking good for the Western actioner.

We saw the duo ride for justice in an awesome new trailer a few weeks back. And now Disney have released a new featurette through Yahoo Movies, in which Hammer faces a 2,000ft drop whilst shooting the film.

Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice–taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

Hammer stars as the eponymous lead, John Reid / The Lone Ranger, with Johnny Depp opposite as Tonto. And the two star alongside a great ensemble, led by Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, and Ruth Wilson.

Verbinski is directing from a script written by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott, who penned all four of the Pirates films, and Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road).

Not only are Verbinski, Depp, Rossio, and Elliott reuniting, but Hans Zimmer is also back alongside them to score the film. So you’d better believe that we’ve got good things coming our way on every level of this film.

The Lone Ranger will be released on July 3rd in the US, with its UK release date coming a little later on 9th August. Here’s the great new featurette to help make the wait a little easier. Enjoy.
