Arnold-Schwarzenegger-The-Last-Stand-PremiereThis evening, our men on the ground were Ben Mortimer and Colin Hart who got to chat with the stars of Lionsgate’s new movie The Last Stand. Hollywood action legend Arnold Schwarzenegger was joined by co-stars Johnny Knoxville and Jaimie Alexander, the latter two of which we have junket interviews going up with later this week. As well as asking about the movie and on the eve of what looks like a new incident in Texas, Ben asked Arnie about his thoughts on US gun control and the former Governor of California gave us his thoughts on the matter, all of which are in the video below.

Jaimie Alexander gives us a little more info as to what we can expect in Thor 2 where she mentions that we get to see a lot more of Asgard and also that we’ll be seeing her in a leading role soon which we’re very much looking forward to.

The Last Stand hits UK cinemas this Thursday and if you missed our review of the movie, click here and for all our coverage of this rather wonderful, over the top and quite frankly brilliant film, click here!

Just something to note is that this interview was conducted before the events and news broke in Texas this evening.

Here’s the transcriptions of the conversation:

Ben Mortimer (HeyUGuys) – The film does sort of say you can save the world with a gun, do you think the  soft opening in the US has been partly down to the climate currently?

Arnold Schwarzenegger – Well I think it’s very important that you have great action movies where you sometimes have different types of weapons, sometimes swords, sometimes you know guns and explosions and stuff like that. But one should not confuse what is entertainment and what is real life you know. In real life, what has has happened in America and what has happened all over the world, when people get killed with guns is a tragedy, and we always have to try to do everything we can to figure out ways of how to reduce this kind of a violence and we all have to participate in that dialogue.
