The Inbetweeners MovieThey denied it over and over again but last year, creators and writers of the show Damon Beesley and Iain Morris seemed to suggest that they were indeed writing a sequel to the massive smash movie The Inbetweeners. The movie followed the hugely successful Channel 4 TV show which was watched and loved by millions.

The Inbetweeners Movie brought in a massive £55m (£45m in the UK) when it only cost around £3.5m to make and became the most successful British comedy ever to hit UK cinemas.

According to reports in The Sun, the writers will be sending the boys down to Australia on a backpacking holiday and will see the return of all four of our favourites Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas who have all signed on to return.

All this we know from a ‘Source’ which isn’t too helpful but this is what that source told The Sun (hopefully it’s legit!):

The writers… have been knocking ideas around for a while and came up with something they thought would be good enough to maintain the high standards they have set. They never thought all the lads would be up for coming back so soon as they have become big stars in their own right. But when James [Buckley] said he was game the other week, everything seemed to click into place.

If all runs to plan, we’ll be getting the sequel summer 2014. Nothing official has been announced as yet but as soon as it is, we’ll let you know!

Who’s excited?! (WE ARE!!)
