The-Hunger-Games-Catching-Fire-PosterFollowing the astounding success of last year’s franchise-starter, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be arriving in theatres at the end of this year, and is sure to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2013.

Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) has taken the helm in place of Gary Ross this time around, and we’ve got a lot to look forward to in the sequel.

We saw the first motion poster debut late last year, followed by the first official teaser poster at the start of this year. And now two new posters for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire have debuted online, via HitFix and Facebook, giving us a look at the young Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson reprising their leading roles.

“THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”

Lawrence and Hutcherson are once more joined by a great ensemble, headed up by Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Jena Malone, Sam Claflin, Woody Harrelson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Willow Shields, and Donald Sutherland.

Francis Lawrence is directing from a screenplay first written by the Oscar-winning Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours), with Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3, Star Wars Episode VII) hired for a rewrite. And of course, this is all based on Suzanne Collins’ original novel.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set for release on 22nd November in the UK and US, and that’s definitely a release date you’ll want to commit to memory. This will once again have everyone talking well before the end of the year.
