The-Host-Character-Poster-Diane-KrugerComing off the back of 2011’s In Time, Andrew Niccol returns behind the camera to bring us The Host, the first adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s work following the conclusion of The Twilight Saga last year.

Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, and Jake Abel will be starring as our young leading trio this time around. And if the first full-length trailer we saw last year is anything to by, it should be a big hit when it lands next month.

We saw a handful of character posters for Ronan, Irons, and Abel last month, and now Hollywood Crush have debuted the fourth in the series, giving us a look at Diane Kruger as The Seeker.

“Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that takes over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. Wanderer, the invading ‘soul’ who has been given Melanie’s body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. Melanie fills Wanderer’s thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves – Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body’s desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she’s never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.”

Joining the quartet for the spring blockbuster will be William Hurt, and Chandler Canterbury.

Niccol is directing from his own script, adapting Meyer’s original novel. I’m a big fan of Niccol’s work to date, and am naturally really looking forward to seeing what he does next. Ronan has made a great name for herself in recent years, and the partnership between the two should be awesome.

Meyer has spoken in the past of launching The Host into a trilogy of novels, and I’m sure that all involved will be eager for that to happen to see the film continue in the years to come.

The Host will be released on 22nd March here in the UK, with its US release date set for a week later on 29th March. For now, here’s the latest poster in the series, showing Kruger as The Seeker, completing the eye by joining up the four character posters.
