Wes Anderson wasted no time in getting back behind the camera following his Oscar-nominated Moonrise Kingdom, and it should come as no surprise that everyone is looking forward to what brings next with The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Assembling yet another fantastic cast, led by the ever-brilliant Ralph Fiennes, the first trailer for Anderson’s anticipated feature is set to land on Thursday this week. And ahead of it, Fox Searchlight has debuted the first poster.
The Grand Budapest Hotel tells of a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protégé. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.
Fiennes takes the lead as M. Gustave, starring alongside, in alphabetical order, F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Harvey Keitel, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Léa Seydoux, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson, and Owen Wilson, also introducing Tony Revolori.
His casts really do just keep getting better and better, and it’s going to be great seeing Wilson back in an Anderson movie after his absence in Moonrise Kingdom.
Anderson is directing from his own script, and he produces alongside Jeremy Dawson, Steven M. Rales, and Scott Rudin.
The Grand Budapest Hotel is set to be released sometime next year, and it’s going to be very interesting to see both where it makes its debut and when it then lands in cinemas.
