NYCC-goers over the weekend were treated to this excellent first footage, and after seeing the bloody first international teaser poster, we’re now getting to see what they saw, and why it was so promising.
Chloë Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore star in the leads, and with its release set for the spring, things are looking good.
“A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.”
Starring alongside Moretz and Moore will be the brilliant Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Gabriella Wilde, and Alex Russell.
Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) is behind the camera, directing from a script by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Glee), who makes his feature debut, adapting the classic novel by Stephen King.
Carrie will be arriving in theatres in the US on 15th March, 2013, followed by a 5th April release here in the UK. It looks set to be one of the best horror films of next year, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out. Here’s the teaser trailer to get you hooked.
