The-Call-PosterBrad Anderson’s The Call was released in the US back in the spring, opening to stronger numbers than early predictions, taking the second spot behind Disney’s Oz the Great and Powerful.

Led by Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin, the thriller sees the former star as a 911 operator who takes a call from a recently-abducted young girl (Breslin), whose life she must save. And with its UK release date on the horizon, we’ve got a new trailer to share.

When veteran 911 operator, Jordan (Halle Berry), takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl (Abigail Breslin) who has just been abducted, she realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl’s life.

The two female leads are joined by Morris Chestnut, Ella Rae Peck, Michael Imperioli, Roma Maffia, and Michael Eklund.

Anderson (The Machinist, Transsiberian) is directing from a script penned by Richard D’Ovidio (Thir13en Ghosts), based on a story D’Ovidio wrote with Nicole D’Ovidio and Jon Bokenkamp (Taking Lives).

So successful was the film’s release in the US earlier this year that WWE Studios are reportedly considering the possibility of a sequel, given its box office numbers.

The Call is set to be released in the UK on 20th September, and is out now on Blu-ray/DVD in the US. The trailer is blow and there are some images you can click to make them bigger.
