The-Amazing-Spider-Man-2-Poster-sliceThe wait is over! The second trailer for highly anticipated The Amazing Spider-Man 2 leaked earlier in the month, but was sadly swiftly removed from the surface of the Internet.

It was always just a matter of time before its return, though, and now Sony have (re-)launched the trailer this morning. And if you saw it the first time around, you’ll know it’s definitely worth the wait. Emma Stone’s expression when she shouts Peter’s name near the end is just brilliant.

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Andrew Garfield leads another exceptional cast, with Emma Stone sharing centre stage once more as Gwen Stacy, and a stellar line-up led by Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Chris Cooper, Brian Haley, Colm Feore, and B.J. Novak.

Marc Webb is back in the director’s chair for the sequel, this time with a script by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Transformers, Star Trek) and Jeff Pinkner (Fringe, Lost), based on an original draft by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man).

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 18th April in the UK, before heading across the Atlantic for its May 2nd US release date. This is going to be awesome. Easily one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
