Here’s the third trailer for Twentieth Century Fox’s the new air combat movie, Red Tails which tells the story of a group of African-Americans who are brought into the US Air Force in World War Two after the military suffer losses which means they have no choice but to make this ‘unorthodox option’. George Lucas Executive Produces the movie and after watching this trailer, I can’t wait to see it!

Bryan Cranston, Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, David Oyelowo, Kevin Phillips, Nate Parker, Daniela Ruah, Michael B. Jordan, Tristan Wilds, Cliff Smith, Rick Otto star in the movie helmed by Director Anthony Hemingway. It looks like it’s going to be a real tear-jerker and I’m very much looking forward to seeing it. From the looks of it, we’ll get it here in the UK early 2012 but no date confirmed as yet.

1944. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options – including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Trailer time for Red Tails, and this is the second look we’ve been given of director Anthony Hemingway’s film which has been a labour of love for Executive Producer George Lucas for many years now and you can see his nostalgic touch all over this one.

The thrilling true story of the Tuskegee Airmen buzzes to the big screen in this epic war adventure from executive producer George Lucas and first-time feature director Anthony Hemingway. In the fire and chaos of World War II, the U.S. military recruits a fearless group of African-American fighter pilots to help reclaim the skies over Europe. Discriminated against both as citizens and as soldiers, the Tuskegee Airmen take flight in planes distinguished by distinctive red tails, and fight to defeat the tyranny of the Axis powers. As a result of their bravery, the pilots emerge as true heroes, and prove that all men are truly created equal. Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Bryan Cranston star.

20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm have released the first official trailer for the George Lucas-produced World War II drama Red Tails.

Directed by Anthony Hemingway, Red Tails stars Terrence Howard, Daniela Ruah, Bryan Cranston, Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Method Man, Ryan Early, Elijah Kelley, Robert Kazinsky and Cuba Gooding Jr.

Although there’s no official synopsis yet, Red Tails is expected to tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first African-American pilots to fly in a combat squadron during World War II.

As the trailer so valiantly edifies, Red Tails will hit cinemas in the US on January 20, 2012. A UK release date, however, has not yet been confirmed.

IFC Films have released the first theatrical trailer for new thriller, The Ledge which is directed by Matthew Chapman and stars Terrence Howard, Charlie Hunnam, Liv Tyler, Patrick Wilson and Christopher Gorham.

After embarking on a passionate affair with his evangelical neighbor’s wife, Gavin soon finds himself in a battle of wills that will have life or death consequences. As a non-believing atheist, Gavin is lured by her lover’s husband to the ledge of a high rise and told he has one hour to make a choice between his life or the one he loves. Without faith in an afterlife, will he be able to make a decision? It’s up to police officer Hollis to save both their lives but the clock is ticking…

The Ledge hits US cinemas 25th May and UK cinemas some time later this year.

This is for all you beatniks out there. The Playlist has posted some rather artful-looking images from the adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s highly influential classic novel On the Road.

A film version of this seminal book from Kerouac – a well-known figure from the Beat Generation (a group of American writers and poets who came to prominence in the 1950’s), had been in the works for a while before director Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries) came onboard. The $25 million picture has been produced by Francis Ford Coppola (who was actually down to direct a version at one point).

Starring Garrett Hedlund (who will be seen next in Tron: Legacy) and Sam Riley as protagonists Dean Moriarty and Kerouac’s alter ego Sal Paradise, On the Road is a largely autobiographical work that was based on a road trip involving Kerouac and his friends across mid-century America, taking in and commenting on the cultural landscape they encountered on the way.

Salles has done his best to make the road trip a memorable one. An all-star cast made up of Kristen Stewart, Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Steve Buscemi, Terrence Howard, Alice Braga and Elisabeth Moss will be joining the duo on their journey.

The film is still in production at the moment, so expect to probably see it in cinemas sometime late next year, Daddy-o.

George Lucas’ latest project is called Red Tails and is a movie based on the first African American World War II fighter pilots. FGV Schmidle have the images on their website. I’d not heard of the company before (I probably should have!) but it turns out that they’re the guys providing the cameras and hardware for the movie and they’ve put the images up more to show off their kit rather than to give us movie fans a good look at the new Lucas project.

Although produced by Lucas, the movie is directed by Anthony Hemingway and stars Terrence Howard,
Daniela Ruah, Bryan Cranston and Cuba Gooding Jr. I recently watched Hart’s War which also stars Howard as a black WWII fighter pilot so it’ll be an odd link to see him in another movie with the same subject matter and probably wearing a very similar costume.

Have a look at the images below and let us know what you think. As I said previously, these have been put up by the camera company so the images look mainly at the hardware but we get to see an ample amount of set and staging. You can see more images from the movie on the FGV Schmidle website.

It seems that we’ve been bringing you new posters for nearly a year for this movie now…. that’s because we have an here’s a couple more! With all these new animated movies coming out, it seems nice to have a movie that will take us back to the good old days of Disney and they’ve done it in the form of The Princess and the Frog.

The movie features voices of Anika Noni Rose, Terrence Howard, John Goodman, Keith David, Jim Cummings, Oprah Winfrey and Jenifer Lewis and is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. If you’ve not seen the trailer, you can check it out here. It’s set for release 12th February which feels like a long time to wait but no doubt it’ll come around fast.

Here’s yet another poster from Disney’s latest 2D movie, The Princess and the Frog. This will be Disney’s first 2d movie for years!

It’s released in the UK 12th February 2010 so you can ignore the date on it! It’s directed by Ron Clements and John Musker and features the voices of Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Jenifer Lewis, Ritchie Montgomery, Bruno Campos, Terrence Howard, Oprah Winfrey and John Goodman. Much like Sony have done with 2012, Disney have released the first five minutes from their new 2D animation, The Princess and the Frog. I’ve embedded the clip below along with a 30 second clip showing how some of the animation was achieved. The video clip also features some animation which is as yet incomplete.
