Though I am only at the beginning of my journey through Game of Thrones I have rarely seen a series make such an impression, and when the first season ended there were waves of disbelief which swept over Twitter, so clearly I have a lot to catch up on.

Bowing graciously to the legion of fans, who are baying like hungry tv-watching wolves in the downtime between seasons, HBO have put up seventeen new images of season two on their Facebook page and we’ve taken some of the best and placed them here.

Here’s the second trailer for HBO’s awesome TV series, Game of Thrones which is back on Sky Atlantic 1st April. In the trailer we get to see lots more footage from the show which has taken the country by storm.

In this new teaser trailer, we get to hear about the ‘Three great men, a king, a priest and a rich man’. It’s a great little teaser trailer this which fills you in with the story even if you’ve never seen it and I cannot wait to see what happens (as I’ve still not read the books!).

If you missed season 1, it starred Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Kit Haringtons. If you missed it, it’s definitely a show that you need to watch and you can order it here.

Here’s a rather enchanting new trailer for Relativity Media’s new version of the Snow White story in their adaptation Mirror Mirror. A couple of days ago, we got to see a great behind the scenes featurette and today we’ve been given a nice new shiny trailer.

As I said in the previous post, this version is in a completely different tone to that of Snow White and the Huntsman and it feels much more like a fairy tale adaptation rather than a full on action movie that SWATH seems to be. Mirror Mirror is directed by Tarsem Singh and stars Julia Roberts, Lily Collins, Armie Hammer, Nathan Lane, Mare Winningham, Sean Bean, Michael Lerner. It’ll be with us 16th March.

Relativity Media have just released this lovely new featurette (which combines to form a new trailer) for their new movie, Mirror Mirror. I think it’s a lovely video collection really showing off the style that we can expect from this version of the Snow White story. Kristen Stewart’s Snow White and the Huntsman looks extremely different in style from the trailer‘s we’ve seen and now seeing this new featurette and the images that we saw a week or two ago, I’m really excited to see both versions.

April is the time to get excited people as that’s when Game of Thrones Season 2 hits TV screens in the US and UK. HBO have released this fabulous trailer for the second season and it looks just as brilliant as the first. The TV show is based on the series of books by George R. R. Martin.

HBO know how to make a good TV series. They’ve brought out so many of my favourites which have to include Rome, Boardwalk Empire and the mini series’ Band of Brothers and The Pacific. As well as Boardwalk, one of my favourites in the past 12 months has to be Game of Thrones. The second season is going to be back in 2012 and I cannot wait.

HBO have released this Production trailer which has interviews with many of the filmmakers but also shows snippets of footage from the season 2 shoot. If you’ve read the books, you’ll know where it’s going and if you haven’t (like me!) you can come along for the ride!

Just a couple of weeks ago, a dozen new images from Tarsem Singh’s upcoming as-yet-untitled Snow White film went online, and they gave us a pretty great look at what we can expect from the film when it comes out next year.

Half a dozen more images have now surfaced over at THR, and they give us another look at the cast all dressed up in their fantastic costumes.

It’s been five years since Singh’s last film, The Fall, and now he’s bringing us two films within a matter of months – Immortals is hitting cinemas next month, on 11th November, and this Snow White project is coming out in March next year. No doubt both will be very different films, but both will have elements of drama and fantasy common to them, for which Singh was very well received in The Fall.

Singh’s version of the Snow White tale is led by Lily Collins in the eponymous role, with a supporting cast that includes Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer, Sean Bean, and Nathan Lane. It’s set to hit cinemas in the US on 16th March next year, and we’ll likely be getting it around that time too, so we’ve got just five months to wait, almost to the day.

My personal pick of the bunch has to be the third, the shot of Collins rattling sabres with one of the dwarfs in the snow. She looks perfect for the part of Snow White in this film. Not having Sky Atlantic, I missed Game of Thrones when it aired earlier this year, but I hear that it was a pretty amazing first season to the TV series, and it won Peter Dinklage an Emmy at this month’s awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, as well as gaining a host of other nominations.

HBO have now put out a very short teaser trailer for the second season, courtesy of HBO which is due to start airing in the spring next year.

The teaser really is just a quick tease, with more than half a year left to go until the second season starts up, and we can no doubt look forward to bigger and better glimpses in the months to come. For now, we can enjoy Sean Bean telling us about the terrors of the night.

According to Bleeding Cool,

“The phrase is something of a mantra for Melisandre of Asshai, a character introduced in the second of George R.R Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire books, and therefore the second series of A Game of Thrones.”

With any luck, the first season will see its DVD/Blu-Ray release sometime soon so that I can play a little bit of catch-up before the second season starts. Without further ado, here’s the teaser trailer.

If you look at Hollywood actors that dies a lot in movies, Sean Bean must be up there with one of the highest death counts going! If you see a movie or TV series with him in, more than likely he’ll be dead before the credits begin to roll!

A series of new behind-the-scenes images have debuted on Facebook (via ComingSoon) depicting the film’s cast and crew on the set of Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.

Included in the set are pictures of producer Don Carmody posing with the film’s demon nurses and crouching under a rather sinister looking statue, as well as an image of co-star Carrie-Anne Moss in make-up as a cult-leader in Silent Hill.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is currently in production in Toronto and set for a 2012 release.

To celebrate the release of Age of Heroes on DVD and Blu-ray 13th June, Metrodome Distribution have given us three copies of the movie to give away on DVD. Metrodome have just sent over a brand new trailer for their new movie, Age of Heroes which gets a short theatrical run 20th Mat before hitting DVD and Blu-ray 13th June. It’s directed by Adrian Vitoria and stars William Houston, Aksel Hennie, Izabella Miko, James D’Arcy, Danny Dyer and Sean Bean as Major Jones.

Age of Heroes is an action-packed British thriller based on the real-life events of Ian Fleming’s 30 Commando during World War II – the template for the modern day SAS.

Sean Bean (Lord Of The Rings, GoldenEye) and Danny Dyer (The Business, The Football Factory) star in an adrenalin-fuelled action-adventure which takes our heroes from the edge of defeat on the beaches of Dunkirk to the mountains of Norway on a search-and-destroy mission behind enemy lines that, if successful, would change the course of the war.

Here’s some news I’m rather pleased about! A day after Game of Thrones (which is based on the book by George R.R. Martin) aired in the UK on Sky Atlantic, and two days after it appeared on HBO in the US, it has been renewed for a second season.

The news comes from Entertainment Weekly who think the second season will continue the book series and be based on Martin’s second book in the Song of Ice and Fire series called A Clash of Kings.

Game of Thrones debuted on HBO in the US last night, our review is here and it begins on Sky Atlantic in the UK this evening at 9pm.

On Friday evening I arrived at BAFTA HQ amongst an audience buzzing with lukewarm anticipation for a double billed preview of HBO’s latest sensational offering, Game of Thrones… but when I left they were absolutely beside themselves. If our screening was any sort of indicator as to how the general public will react when the show premiere’s on Sky Atlantic tonight (at 9pm) then I think it really is a case of tipping our hats and raising our glasses to all involved because HBO have done it again: instantly hypnotic and shamefully addictive viewing. Game of Thrones looks set to join Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Rome, The Wire, Band of Brothers, The Pacific  and multiple other original programming greats in the HBO Hall of Fame. Let me tell you why…..

The show is based relatively accurately upon the medieval fantasy book series A Song of Ice and Fire. The action is set in the Seven Kingdoms where the nobility struggle over power, against supernatural forces and through an enthralling and dangerous series of adventures. Sean Bean stars as Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North alongside his wife, Catelyn (Michelle Fairley) and his six children including his illegitimate son Jon Snow they form an intriguing dynasty and a spider’s web of rich character background and potential story lines. Then we have the King of the Seven Kingdoms Robert Baratheon who is wonderfully embodied by Mark Addy who fittingly pointed out in the Q&A his character’s resemblance to Henry VIII in both gregariousness and excess. King Baratheon is married to his beautiful and disquietingly shrewd queen Cersei, played by a blonde but still stunning Lena Headey, who has a disturbing and perverse secret that she’s keeping from her husband (no, not giving that one away, watch the first episode for yourself and have your own jaw drop to the floor). Harry Lloyd and Emilia Clarke are also introduced in the first episodes as the flaxen Targaryen siblings and they’re all golden beauty, treacherous ideas and distracting charm.

At first glance the cast is quite a motley crew of young and old as well as familiar and unknown acting talent but the final effect is convincing as well as carefully executed. But whose side are we on in a drama that true to medieval fantasy form sits on a vast greyscale between good and evil? Sean Bean jokingly told me I should really be rooting for Lord Stark before explaining that all the characters have their own stories to tell. Personally I’m quite looking forward to all the trouble that the Targaryens are going to bring with them but even from the first episode it’s clear that Sean has a point. Most probably owing to their literary origins, the characters are all surprisingly three dimensional; even the family pets have an interesting back story!

The title sequence alone is utterly captivating with lots of multidirectional zooms and dives over a clockwork map of the Seven Kingdoms whilst the show itself is awesomely cinematic. I briefly caught a word with the extremely amiable and patently talented production designer Gemma Jackson after the screening and we both lamented the fact that neither of us had a 12ft HD television screen at home to fully appreciate the show’s impressive aesthetics. The scenery is just opulence galore! From maggot infested carcasses and dismembered bodies to decadent banquet tables and sunbathed stone. The locations during filming are all noticeably breathtaking stretching from the timeless rolling scenery in Northern Ireland to glittering Maltese beaches and once combined with some deft and persuasive cinematography the effect is incredibly satisfying.

Without spoiling any of the sumptuously moreish plot lines I must admit, I was more than a little swept away by Game of Thrones. Some people may feel a little dubious about the fantasy style and throwback to Medieval Europe but Mark Addy was quick to highlight that this is fantasy for people who don’t do fantasy, and I can sincerely vouch for that fact. You’d be hard pushed to find Game of Throne boring: fantasy has never been this dark, sexy and surprisingly imaginative.

The new series which is ten episodes long comes to the UK on Sky Atlantic on 18th April, a day later than in the US but if you want a sneak peak, you can watch the first 14 minutes of the show right here.

By far the most surprising thing about 2006′s Silent Hill – based on the hit survival-horror video game series – was that it was really rather good. With the list of watchable video game adaptations being as short as it is, how pleasing to see Davis Films not only splash out for a second instalment but bother to regroup the original movie’s surviving players.

Sean Bean, Radha Mitchell and Deborah Kara Unger will return to Silent Hill where they will join franchise newcomers Adelaide Clemens and Kit Harington. The film is to be shot in Toronto by Michael Bassett, who also wrote the screenplay.

“It wouldn’t be the same without some of the original Silent Hill cast.  Sean, Radha and Deborah’s return will certainly thrill fans of the franchise and compliment Revelations stars Adelaide and Kit.”

Cinematographer Maxime Alexandre, who has previously worked on Mirrors, The Hills Have Eyes and The Crazies – which also starred Mitchell, added:

“With the most advanced technology available, in particular the lighter, smaller and more flexible 3D Red Epic, we are able to take audiences deeper in the world of Silent Hill than they ever dreamed possible. Devotees will finally be able to enter this realm along side of Heather, Vincent, Harry and Rose and experience the psychological horror and the fear of the unknown with them.”

According to the press release (via Collider), the sequel will pick up several years after the events of Christophe Gans’ original, a film which ended *spoilers* a bittersweet family reunion as Rose Da Silva (Mitchell) and daughter Sharon (Unger) escape Silent Hill and return home to Chritsopher (Bean). Unable to interact, it becomes clear that mother and daughter are still shrouded in the towns mist, cursed after endearing Silent Hill. The new film will see Heather Mason (Clemens) fall victim to the same town after awakening from terrible nightmares on the eve of her 18th birthday to discover the disappearance of her father and the difficult realisation that she’s not at all who she thinks she is.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D will be distributed internationally by Lionsgate.
