Last night saw the UK premiere of This Means War, the spy-action-rom-com-bromance starring Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon, and we braved the cold weather and the gangs of dispossessed posh people marauding around Kensington to cover the event.

You may have already seen the clip from the video where McG serenades me. Remarkably that wasn’t even the first time that had happened that day. In addition to the full interview with McG, where we spoke about his hopes for the movie, the influence the Bond franchise and Oceans 11 have had on the film, and the ‘R’-rating it originally received in the US.

We also spoke with Chris Pine about the relationship between the male leads in the film, and got a quick snippet from Reese Witherspoon about the appeal of This Means War, and her love of small dramatic movies.

Here’s something you don’t see every day! Last night, Ben Mortimer and Colin Hart attended the UK premiere of This Means War in Kensington, London (see their full report including interviews with Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine shortly) and ended up being serenaded by the film’s director.

This footage shows what sort of atmosphere was on the carpet last night as Ben Mortimer’s dreams came true as the Terminator Salvation Director, McG decided to sing Michael Jackson’s song ‘Ben’ to him on the spot!

I’ll say no more but watch on and enjoy!

UPDATED! (See below!) Well this is a nice way to end the week! We’ve just been sent this rather nice photo from HeyUGuys reader Brian who has spotted this rather awesome Spider-Man logo projection which is currently lighting up the streets in Camden for what must be Marc Webb’s new Spider-Man movie, The Amazing Spider-Man (either that or someone has got a little carried away with their projector!). As tends to be the case with these sort of promotions, it’s quite possible that more of these will appear in and around London like we saw with the likes of Knowing back in 2009 (how I remember that I have no idea!) so keep your eyes peeled for more and please send them into us using the contact drop down on the site.

The Amazing Spider-Man sees the lovely British actor that is Andrew Garfield playing the title role with Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field co-starring alongside him. It hits UK cinemas 4th July.

The film, which is now in production and is being shot entirely in 3D, will be released on July 3, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures. The executive producers are Stan Lee, Kevin Feige, and Michael Grillo.

They event projected on Parliament!

Today is about one thing and one thing only, The Muppets! Ben is off to interview Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy and I’ve never seen the man so exited! We’re also off to the UK press conference for the movie and we’ll be live blogging the whole thing so keep your eyes peeled for that!

In the meantime though, here’s the premiere report which took place last night in London and all the stars were out in force. Our friends from Upbeat were there armed with their camera to interview them as they walked or hopped the green carpet!

As usual, Miss Piggy tried to steal the limelight and Kermit struggled to get a work in edgeways but what’s new!  Director James Bobin is there too to tell is experiences working with such iconic actors in what looks like and awful lot of fun.

The Muppets is released in UK cinemas  10th February.

London Olympia is currently playing host to the London Toy Fair 2012. Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve had promotional posters for the Lord of the Rings LEGO characters but now the folks over at Blogomatic have got photos of the LEGO men themselves. These photos are of the LEGO stand rather than the actual characters themselves as it’s locked down but good work for getting the snaps!

Here we get our first full look at Hobbits, Frodo Baggins, Samwise ‘Sam’ Gamgee, Peregrin ‘Pippin’ Took, Meriadoc ‘Merry’ Brandybuck, with Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas Greenleaf and Gandalf the Grey. Not only have they found the Lord of the Rings characters but they’ve also found characters from The Avengers showing us Hulk (played by Mark Ruffalo in the movie) and Captain America (Chris Evans).

LEGO has always been one of my favourite toys and it’s so exciting to see them doing so well now after nearly going under a few years ago. They’re really going from strength to strength combining with all these huge studios. Go LEGO!

Can’t wait to have a play with these!

This evening, London Town was the host for the Royal UK Premiere of Steven Spielberg’s new movie, War Horse. What made it even more special was that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (or William and Kate to their friends) were in attendance. Joining them was the legendary director himself accompanied by the main star of the movie, Joey the horse and cat members Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Peter Mullan, Niels Arestrup, Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irvine, Benedict Cumberbatch and Toby Kebbel.

The Royal UK Premiere was in  aid of The Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. Joining William and Kate for this special screening were 600 servicemen and women and their families. Our man on the ground, Ben Mortimer was on the red carpet ready to catch the stars as they walk by so keep your eyes peeled for his report of the evening later today.

War Horse is released in the UK this Friday 13th January.

Whilst strolling around London earlier this afternoon, I stumbled across a film set. In and of itself, that’s hardly extraordinary, a lot of filming goes on in the city, most of it commercials, promos and music videos, but this looked slightly different. Getting closer the scale of the operation became clear – countless lighting and camera trucks, somewhere in the region of twenty 50 Kilowatt lights, and a series of enormous white screens propped up against the side of a building.

I found a security guard and asked him what was filming, ‘sorry mate, I can’t tell you’. This got my mind racing, trying to remember what I knew to be shooting in London at the moment; there was really only one possibility – Skyfall. I wandered around more, looking for confirmation. Over by one of the camera trucks, an operator and his assistant were using a clapper board for camera tests, but I couldn’t get close enough to read it. Then I stumbled upon a unit sign.

Mystery solved, I set about taking a few snaps of the unit that completely surrounded the building (see gallery below). Sadly I couldn’t sneak inside, but a bit of research online revealed that they were filming in 10 Trinity Square, and inside it looks like this

Sadly I couldn’t find any cast members to get pictures of, but to be honest, if you don’t know what Daniel Craig looks like as Bond by now, you probably wouldn’t be reading this article.

This time yesterday,  I had never met Boris Johnson and had never been to the famous Harry Potter set, Diagon Alley but by midday this afternoon, both those dreams had come true! This morning, I got to travel back to Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire (see our first trip here) which is he home of the brand new Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour. We were there to interview the London Mayor  on the set of Diagon Alley which was announced today to be part of the tour when it opens its gates to the public on March 31st 2012.

Walking onto the (as yet incomplete) set that is Diagon Alley was truly amazing. I still remember when I was at university in Cheltenham and my friend Lauren McConnell (and now recently married as Lauren Jewhurst YAY!) told me that I MUST watch this ‘phenomenon’ called is Harry Potter. She gave me a crib sheet that she made for me detailing who everyone was an gave me an outline to the story. I was doubtful that this would be anything big at the time and just thought Lauren had gone a bit balmy as she saw it at the cinema some crazy amount of times. She can correct me if I’m wrong but I think it was nine! Thing is, turns out she couldn’t have been more right as these movies have really set a new benchmark in a modern day movie franchise and since that time in 2001 has indeed become the biggest movie franchise of all time. Back then, no one could have predicted just how huge Harry Potter would go and I never dreamt that the time of watching it that one day I (and you in a few months) would get to walk on the amazing sets. One of my stand-out memories of Potter was watching Hagrid take Harry into Diagon Alley through the bricks that moved apart at the touch of a wand.

So, back to today! Boris Johnson was given a tour of the new studio by Warner Bros. UK President, Josh Berger followed by a Q&A with me and a few other people about the studio, what it would bring to London and what we can expect when it opens next year. I caught the whole thing on video and have embedded it below for your viewing pleasure. My favourite bit has to be when he places a wand in Ollivander’s (John Hurt in the movies) shop window followed by a fabulous thumbs up!

I said it previously when I visit the studio back in October to interview some of the cast of the movie but the attention to detail on these sets is something that you honestly cannot appreciate until you actually visit them for yourselves. Tickets are on sale now and you can pre-order then here. If you’re a fan of Harry Potter and are in the UK, you have to go and visit the studio as you’ll have one of the best movie experiences you’ve ever had!

I got a little snap happy on the set so have placed all the images below. I hope you enjoy them and please click them to enlarge. You’ll notice that not all the windows are fully dressed, this is simply because Leavesden is still a construction site hence me wearing a high visibility jacket and hard hat and looking dashing! All this will be complete for the tour when it opens which I am now more keen to see than ever!!

This evening, London plays host to the European Premiere of Guy Ritchie’s new movie, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows which stars Robert Downey Jr​, Jude Law​, Noomi Rapace​, Jared Harris, Stephen Fry​ and Eddie Marsan​. Many of the main cast will be there including Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, Director Guy Ritchie and Producer Joel Silver but if you can’t be there in person, fear not as we have the live stream of the event for you right here!

The lovely Edith Bowman will be hosting the event and interviewing the stars as they arrive. They’ll also be a gypsy band performing to open the evening who are featured in the movie. It’s amazing what you can learn while they’re doing the live sync test!

The stars should be arriving on the carpet from 17:45 so go and get a cuppa and come back to watch it all as it unfolds! Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is in UK cinemas 16th December. Earlier this year, I got to go to Leavesden Studios to see a few of the brand new sets that are being built for Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter Studio Tour London. It was one of my personal highlights from working on HeyUGuys and if you missed my interviews with the Weasley Family and Tom Felton, Warwick Davis and Natalia Tena talking about the studio, you can catch up here and here.

While we were there, we took the opportunity to chat with the cast members Julie Walters, Mark Williamson, Oliver and James Phelps and Bonnie Wright about the release of the Blu-ray which lands in UK shops 2nd December. During the interview with the most famous Ginger family in the world (that would be the Weasley Family!), I got to ask them about their favourite memories of filming over the past 11 years, and whether they now all meet for Weasley Family Christmas! The interview takes place in the actual Great Hall that was used in the movies and it’s also the one you’ll be able to go to see when the tour opens in April. You may notice that Julie asks me why I’m doing another intro, this is because the videos were separate and it made me laugh so much, I thought I’d leave it in!

This evening, I went into London to see Happy Feet Two (which I surprisingly really enjoyed!) at the Warner Bros. UK Head Office. When leaving the screening, the legendary Andy Gibbons pointed me towards a cabinet that sits in the lobby at Warner Bros. full up with lots of rather nice props from the Harry Potter movies. Now I am no Potter expert so I wasn’t 100% on what all the props were but many of them I did recognise and decided to get a few snaps, all of which are below for your viewing pleasure. Feel free to name them all in the comments section.

The cabinet is in place to promote the new Warner Bros. London Studio Tour which open in April. Tickets are available for you to buy now and if you missed it, you can see my interviews with the Weasley Family, Tom Felton, Warwick Davis and Natalia Tena at the brand new studios that they have built to house many of the amazing sets from the Potter series of movies. I’ve also placed below a new piece of concept art from Dumbledore’s office which is where I interviewed Tom, Warwick and Natalia. The art comes from Snitch Seeker.

We seem to have gone a little Halloween crazy at the moment but we know that so many of you love a good horror film that it’s hard not to! Last night, London saw the UK Premiere at the London Film Festival for the brand new Geroge Clooney movie, The Ides of March. Clooney not only stars in the movie but co-wrote the screenplay along with Grant Heslov and Beau Willimon who I got to sit down with and interview earlier today.

The film sees a stellar cast alongside Clooney including Ryan Gosling, Evan Rachel Wood, (who I also spoke to at today’s junket) Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright and Max Minghella.
