Here’s a rather nice behind the scenes collection of footage shot by the guys over at Making Of. The footage doesn’t really show us anything ground-breaking from the movie but shows what it’s like to shoot a movie on set with both the cast and crew doing what they do!

Until we see Rod Lurie’s updating of Sam Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs it is perhps unfair to hurl it towards the Pointless Remake bin and yet it is a brave move with the 1971 film still as powerful and complex ever.

Perhaps sensing the relatively simple and timeless horror of the story Screen Gems are serving up another slice of Straw Dog pie with Kate Bosworth and James Marsden terrorised by Alexander Skarsgård and his (un)merry band of men.

The trailer didn’t surprise, though with this casting I half expect this all to be a front for Bryan Singer’s secret Superman 3 remake with Skarsgård under the control of a pissed off Brandon Routh with darkened Superman costume and five o’clock shadow. That is my hope.

Straw Dogs will be released in the UK on October 28th.

Yahoo have released both the teaser and theatrical trailers for Jumping the Broom and in all honesty, neither make the film look great. It looks like a movie that we’ve seen over and over again where a woman tries to find love and then brings her family along for the ride to try and fit in with the other half’s family.

Jumping the Broom stars Paula Patton, Angela Bassett, Laz Alonso, Loretta Devine, Romeo and is directed by Salim Akil.

Synopsis: A collision of worlds when two African-American families from divergent socioeconomic backgrounds get together one weekend in Martha’s Vineyard for a wedding.

Jumping the Broom is released in the UK 10th June.

This evening hosted the World Premiere of James Cameron’s new movie, Avatar, a futuristic story of power, sacrifice and love. The World Premiere was attended by all the main cast which includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel Moore and Laz Alonso.

The cast were all in great form and were obviously excited to be there, to see the movie that they’ve all spent two years making, or 15 years in James Cameron’s case. This movie was designed with a script written back in the 9o’s but James Cameron had to put the idea in the drawer as technology wasn’t able to cope with his ideas and how he wanted the movie to be made.

HeyUGuys were at the World Premiere this evening and managed to get photos and footage (see below) from event with all the main stars which you can check out below. Sorry about the shaky cam and the bad quality audio. I only got to interview James Horner (the composer) on my own, the rest was a free for all but hopefully you can see who is there.

Avatar is released on the 17th December and our review will be up on Monday along with an exclusive interview with Stephen Lang who plays Col. Quaritch.

It’s the one we’ve all been waiting for. The new international trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar has been released (well, the bootleg anyway) and it looks fantastic. This 3.5 minute trailer focuses much more on the people in the movie rather than the special effects although there are so many special effects that they’re probably in every scene shot anyway. I love the music which overlays with opening sequence and I hope that they use that style of score in the final movie itself.

The official HD domestic trailer is officially released later on today but for the time being, here’s the international version which hit the web whilst we were fast asleep last night. Enjoy!

Earlier this week we reported that James Cameron and the men who make the decisions at 20th Century Fox have decided to bring out a 3.5 minute trailer today in cinemas. I’ve tried to find out which film this trailer will be attached to but as yetI’ve not managed to succeed. I won’t give up yet though Avatar fans!
