We’ve had our fair share of set pics from the set of Gemma Arterton’s new movie, Byzantium and here’s a few more. The difference with these ones however is that she’s covered in blood! The images were taken in Ireland where they’re currently filming instead of the southern shored of England were they were in the previous images of the former Bond Girl.

Byzantium is directed by Neil Jordan and also stars  Saoirse Ronan who plays the pretend-daughter of Gemma in the movie.

We’ve had conflicting reports on time but news is that the first trailer for director Peter Jackson’s new movie, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be hitting the interwebs this evening. Everyone is completely buzzing about this new movie which will be released 14th December 2012 and then to be followed by Part 2, The Hobbit: There and Back Again on 13th December 2013. These dates are crazy especially as they are almost exactly one and two years away from now but we have no doubt that the buzz for these films stand the test of time.

Warner Bros. have their slate nailed at the moment with The Dark Knight Rises trailer being released last night meaning both their summer and winter will be sorted for box office tickets in 2012 and let’s hope both franchises live up to their expectations. Today we have some new low-res images for you courtesy of scans from Total Film magazine in their ‘Coming in 2012′ section via CBM. In the images, we get to see Bilbo Baggins played by Martin Freeman with his trademark massive Hobbit feet. There’s also some images of the other Hobbits which now look a far cry away from the comedy production videos that we’ve seen previously. These look dark and depressing and very Lord of the Rings esk which is exactly what we want!

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey stars Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, Mikael Persbrandt, James Nesbitt, Brian Blessed, Ian Holm, Hugo Weaving, Stephen Fry, Elijah Wood, Benedict Cumberbatch and Evangeline Lilly.

Filming of Neil Jordan’s Byzantium continues on the southern coast of England and more pictures have emerged from the production.

Previously we saw Gemma Arterton in a red dress which went round the internet like the plague (but a good plague) and the images from yesterday’s filming continue the theme of beachbound shenanigans, albeit with a more bloodsucking bent.

Arterton and Saoirse Ronan lead Jordan’s film which is based on Moira Buffini’s play about a mother and daughter who are both vampires. Sam Riley, Daniel Mays and Caleb Landry Jones makes up the rest of the principal cast. Looks nuts. Can’t wait.

The Sun had these first, and there’s an extra pic over at their site which is littered wit punnery of assorted merit.

Ok, so these aren’t the most action packed set pics you’ll see this year, but this is the first look at Damian Lewis on set for Nick Love’s big screen adaptation of The Sweeney.

Lewis joins Ray Winstone and Ben Drew in the film, which is shooting in London right now, and we’ve seen some excellent shots from the production so far. These pictures follow on from yesterday’s images which had Winstone in the same (police?) office. Today Ben Drew and Damian Lewis are on set together and we’re keeping an eye on who else turns up.

Love has written the film with John Hodge, the man who worked with Danny Boyle on Shallow Grave and Trainspotting, they have adapted the film from the TV series starring John Thaw and Dennis Waterman which was huge in the ’70s and served as inspiration for the BBC’s Life on Mars series from a few years ago.

Details of the plot are sketchy at the moment, and to be honest it is only the looming microphone above Damian Lewis’s head that makes us sure this is from the set and not us invading the man’s privacy as he makes a phone call.

What makes this seem all the more bizarre is that filming is taking place across the road from the building where Dave and I used to work and talk movies the whole time and the very place where HeyUGuys began three years ago.

Here’s the first set photos from the set of Byzantium that show Gemma Arterton filming on a cold beach somewhere in the UK. We were with Gemma on Sunday night along with multitudes of other British film stars at the British Independent Film awards where she looked stunning when presenting an award. She’s maybe not looking quite as stunning in these images but she’s not doing too bad a job considering she’s probably freezing to death!

Byzantium is directed by Neil Jordan and as well as Gemma stars Saoirse Ronan in a movie where the two characters pose as mother and daughter while are in fact vampires!

Nick Love’s big screen take on The Sweeney is currently shooting in London and so is Ray Winstone, who is seen in these new set pics unloading his gun in the face of some nasty geezer (probably).

The Sun bagged the first four pics, the latter two are new and give what I’m sure is our first look at Hayley Atwell in the role of Nancy and Downton Abbey’s Allen Leech along for the ride.

If there was any rumblings of dissatisfaction that yet another much loved TV show was undergoing a big screen adaptation then I didn’t hear any of it and any such mumurings can easily be shouted down when you line up the project’s cast and crew who seem perfectly placed to bring us a decent London based crime drama.

Ray Winstone and Plan B (Ben Drew, who impressed opposite Michael Caine in Harry Brown a couple of years ago) lead as Regan and Carter and Nick Love directs the action and is seen next to his stars in the final pic in the gallery , which was tweeted by the film’s official twitter account, so fans should probably start following that one.

At the moment, Brad Pitt is in Glasgow filming his new movie World War Z, a post-apocalyptic horror based on the novel by by Max Brooks. The movie is being directed by Marc Forster and also stars Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Lucy Aharish and Julia Levy-Boeken. We’ve seen some set images previously from the shoot in Falmouth but the shoot is now taking place in Glasgow (Scotland for those not in the know!) and over the past week or so but now I have a source of information on the ground, we get to put up our own images!

As luck would have it, my parents are currently on a cruise ship touring around the British Isles. A couple of days ago, they were doing the tour of The Beatles houses in Liverpool and today, I get a call from my dad telling me that he’s found his way onto the set of Brad Pitt’s new movie! He’s gotten all snap happy and has sent over these new images from the set which has been made to look like Philadelphia equipped with smashed up cars and if you look closely, you’ll even see my mum next to a Jaguar with a dummy attached to it (no, not my dad!).

To ease you into the workless weekend Sony have aired a new TV spot for the Founding Fathers of Facebook movie, The Social Network.

Out goes the eerie cover of Radiohead’s Creep and in comes Kanye West with his appropriately titled song, Power, and while there’s not a surfeit of new footage this new spot continues to engage.

With Aaron Sorkin behind the script and David Fincher directing I’m already sold on this one, and the massive Facebook user base this film should be a huge hit, not least because of the pull of the cast which includes Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield.

The recent trailer for Mark Romanek’s adaptation of the Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go was one of the most impressive of recent years, and the poster released recently continues to promise great things.

Fox released these new stills just now and the more I see of the troubled trio of Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley the more I’m convinced that Romanek has found the perfect people to play the three leads.

It’s no secret that we can’t wait for The Social Network to hit our cinemas, the conspiracy of talents both behind and in front of the camera make this a must see, and now there’s a second teaser to whip us into a media frenzy.

The last teaser trailer was an exercise is less is more marketing, and was all the better for planting the seeds of desire in our minds for a better look at the film* and now we’ve got something a little more visual.

The twin talents of director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin are bringing us this one and it will very interesting to see the two distinct creative ideals work together, and the fact that newly crowned Spider-Man Andrew Garfield is in the mix with Jesse Eisenberg and Rashida Jones  can’t hurt either.

Here’s the trailer, but there’s an air of caution blowing around. This was previously to be found on The Playlist, but it has been taken down by Sony. Fan-made trailer? Leaked version? Whatever the truth is – it’s pretty cool.

*after seeing Inception yesterday I’m convinced that everything is an agenda based missile aimed straight at my subconcious.

These images from the latest comedy from Jay Roach look far better than the truly execrable poster recently posted and show off the many talents on display including the pairing of Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell.

Also of note is the great pictures, included in the gallery below, of Little Britain’s own David Walliams with a wonderfully dotty dinner guest, other faces on display include Jemaine Clement, Jeff Dunham, Bruce Greenwood, Ron Livingston, Stephanie Szostak, and Lucy Davenport.

The trailer looks pretty good and the cast are more than capable of tickling our ribs, so here’s hoping when it arrives in the US at the end of July the reports are good.

Fellow Ghibli-ites will want to eat this one up, and the latest in a series of reveals for Studio Ghibli’s next film, the animated adaptation of Mary Norton’s Borrower books, renamed The Borrower Arrietty, is a trailer, and a particularly wonderful one at that.

There’s only a week to go until we get our look at the latest 80s franchise update to tear through the nostalgia barrier and arrive with the Nimrod Antal directed/Robert Rodriguez produced Predators, and in amongst the sheer tonnage of marketing there are still new sights to see.

There’s two new clips around today which have Adrien Brody, Alice Braga and friends working out where (and why) they are. In the first clip, the team have an interesting encounter with someone who is not what he seems, check that out below…

Then there is another nicely chosen clip to set the film up – it gives away the basic premise of the film, so keep out of the way if you want to be untrampled by the spoiler bus, but it’s very clear what Adrien Brody and his team of militarised misfits are doing in the jungle.

The clip is an exclusive to JoBlo and it’s well worth your time before the 8th of July hits and the Predators eat our eyeballs for popcorn.

Not too long ago there was a poster – simple, elegant, some would say enigmatic.

David Fincher’s film adaptation of The Accidental Billionaries by Ben Mezrich on the founding of Facebook is one of the most anticipated films of the year and now we get a teaser trailer to make us wish our lives away.

Now the colossal collision of talents of Fincher, scriptwriter Aaron Sorkin and the acting chops of Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield conspire to give us a tale of betrayal, billionaires and business – at least that’s the small amount of information we get from this, perfectly described, teaser trailer.

It gives us a logo, various voiceovers and that’s about it. But it’s Fincher and Sorkin – surely you’re already interested?

While the world basks in the glow of another Pixar treat, Japan’s premier animation house Studio Ghibli have a treat up their sleeve to enchant and enthrall.

Their adaption of Mary Norton’s Borrowers novels, renamed here The Borrower Arrietty, has had a couple of trailers which point to another triumph.

Images have surfaced online which some of the characters, and just beg to be seen in their animated form.

Bleeding Cool deserve to be hoisted up and saluted, for they found these gems.

Any more images or trailers from Nimrod Antal’s Predators get released and we’ll have seen it all, so ubiquitous has this marketing push been.

Having said that nothing so far has disappointed and this particular weekend sees our US cousins get not one, but two big screen 80s reboots in the form of The A-Team and The Karate Kid, and the early birds are tweeting that they’re not too bad.

So hope abounds for Robert Rodriguez’s next producing gig where he’ll throw a thousand volts through the corpse of the Predator series and in this new TV spot there’s some new footage to intrigue and seduce you into speculation – what was that flying thing? Do Predators have an equivalent of hunting dogs? When is the film out anyway?

By now you’ll have seen so many Predators posters that one more won’t hurt, and with Nimrod Antal’s film out in a few weeks this new poster calls back to one of the defining images of the original.

The whole thermal imaging thing worked well in the previous Predator films, and it’s nice to see the marketing people use it here for this new image of Adrien Brody and Alice Braga.

It’s a pretty low res version, I’m guessing someone snapped this with their phone camera and so far it’s the best we’ve got so be thankful for small mercies.

So, if you still ain’t got time to bleed take a look, and prepare for the Predators to finally be unleashed at the start of July.

Jon put some images up last week from the set of the final Harry Potter movie and now SnitchSeeker have a few more for us where we get to see most the male cast including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Tom Felton with rather odd beards and Hermione (Watson) still looking rather trendy and cool! All these images were taken outside Kings Cross train station on London during the film for the epilogue at the end of the second movie.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is released 19th November with the second part being released 15th July 2011. Both movies are being directed by David Yates and will be converted into 3d.

I’m sure that the constant drip feeding of images, posters and trailers from the Nimrod Antal directed Predators has created the right amount of buzz for Robert Rodriguez’s alien hunters, and now there’s two new posters to further whet your voracious appetite.

Nothing much new here but it’s still good to see Adrien Brody and Alice Braga tooled up and ready to face whatever Antal and Rodriguez have in store for them. Brody and Braga star along with Danny Trejo, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace and Walter Goggins to make up a nicely eclectic cast.
