Mr T has turned down a cameo in the Joe Carnahan directed rebake of 80s TV favourite The A-Team according to Latino Review, who spoke to the original B.A. Baracus this week.

While rumours of Dwight Schultz and Dirk Benedict appearing in small roles in the new film have been around for a while it seemed somewhat natural that 20th Century Fox would think to approach one of the most iconic actors of the 80s, but it didn’t happen.

Personally I find these cameos a touch distracting and I can imagine nothing worse than Mr T. appearing as a car salesman or desk bound cop in the new film – or even worse as B.A. Baracus Snr… But seriously the man appears not have aged in the last twenty years so they could have cast him instead of Quinton Jackson so kudos to Mr T. for turning down the money and opting to give his blessing to the new film.

Now, if only he would stop  hawking World of Warcraft.

Here’s some news which was bound to surface sooner or later. Dirk Benedict has confirmed via DirkBenedictCentral.com that he’ll be appearing in the new The A-Team movie with a cameo part.

As I say, this comes as no surprise to me as anyone who’ll appear in the celebrity version of Big Brother in the UK will surely be part of a big budget movie given half the chance! With Dwight Schultz confirming a couple of weeks ago that he’ll be in the movie, all we need now is the big man, Mr. T to get involved and we have ourselves a movie!

Joe Carnahan is directing the new movie which stars Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton “˜Faceman’ Peck, Liam Neeson as Col John “˜Hannibal’ Smith, Sharlto Copley as Captain “˜Howling Mad’ Murdock, Quinton “˜Rampage’ Jackson as Sgt Bosco “˜B.A.’ Baracus and Jessica Biel as their female sidekick.

It’s set for release 30th July 2010.
