Last night in the US, the DVD and Blu-ray went on sale for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and fans of the movie were given a sneak peak of a clip from the final movie which is released in November and sees the final chapter of the movie which stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson. This clip follows the news that the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will hit before The Hunger Games when it’s released in March.

Both the shots of the clip below come from footage filmed on mobile phones or the like in-store but no doubt the clips will be officially released online in the coming days.

This Means War is released in the UK March 2nd which is all too far away so it bridge the gap, here’s nine minute’s the film for your viewing pleasure. It’s an extended scene from the film which shows Chris Pine and Tom Hardy finding out that they are both dating the same girl, a certain Reese Witherspoon.

The movie is directed McG who is the man who brought us Charlie’s Angels and Terminator Salvation so he know knows how to make an action movie. In the clip, we get to see a rather great selection of comedy and action and I am actually really excited to see it!

The final film in the epic Harry Potter saga,  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 swept across the world this summer and brought to an end the story of the Boy who Lived and his snake nosed nemesis.

Of course the story isn’t quite over with the home entertainment release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows due in just under a month and we’ve got our hands on a clip from one of the extras that will be available on the Blu-ray to share with you today.

The battle of Hogwarts was a striking finale and the effects team, who have done some excellent work in the previous films, had a mammoth task in bringing this final fight to the screen. The clip which follows breaks down some of the shots for us along with a commentary from director David Yates.

Based on Ronnie Thompson’s autobiographical account of his time as a prison officer Screwed is an intense and violent portrayal of life behind bars and Reg Traviss’ film is out on Blu-ray and DVD on the 17th of October.

We’ve been given an exclusive look behind the scenes of the film with one of the film’s best known actors, Noel Clarke, talking about what made the film special as well as the wider themes addressed.

Clarke in particular impressed our man Adam Lowes when he wrote his review for the film’s theatrical release and he and leading man James D’arcy did solid work to elevate the film from the mire of similar fare.

It’s a strong film from an able British cast and crew, and worth catching when it reaches the home entertainment formats next week.

MSN have debuted the new UK trailer for Brad Pitt’s new movie, Moneyball which is hitting UK cinemas 25th November. It’s set to play at the Toronto Film Festival next month and we’re yet to hear if we’ll get to lay eyes on it at the London Film Festival. The film is based on the true story about Billy Beane, the Oakland Athletics’ General Manager who takes the club from zero to hero. Guess the ending right here!

The man behind The Went Wing was drafted in to tweak Stan Chervin’s adaptation of Michael M Lewis’s book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game and it seems like the perfect project for the Oscar winning screenwriter. Brad Pitt and Johan Hill are joined by Robin Wright and Philip Seymour Hoffman, who is reunited with his Capote director Bennett Miller.

At the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One, we weren’t left with a cliff hanger, so much as half a movie. After 146 minutes of wizarding action the story finished at what’s often termed ‘the mid-point low’, the moment where all seems lost, and the audience, as well as the hero are emotionally deflated.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 picks up moments after that, with a quick reminder that You Know Who got hold of That Wand, and a shot of a very small gravestone, then we’re back with Harry, Hermione and Ron, in a house, on a beach. Even when compared to other ‘part twos’ like Kill Bill Part 2 and the second Matrix sequel this is a bold move, as it essentially renders the film unwatchable as a movie in its own right – although it would be utterly baffling if anyone did choose this as their one and only Potter experience, and frankly anyone who does so is either an idiot or some sort of masochist.

For the rest of us, the started-where-it-left-off opening is something of a mixed blessing, as from the opening conversation, the film recalls events from the previous picture as if we have just seen them. This meant that, in spite of my being reasonably familiar with the franchise, and having seen Deathly Hallows Part One on several occasions, I still found myself struggling to keep track of who was where, what they wanted, and at times what was going on.

Worse than this though, the cold-start creates a massive pacing issue, as we jump very quickly into the action without any build up: Within minutes of the house on the beach, our three heroes have to break into Gringotts bank, in  what amounts to a magical version of Ocean’s Eleven (or rather, Potter’s Three and a half). This sequence should be full of tension and excitement, but because the film’s director, David Yates is relying upon the emotions we are feeling from a different movie to carry this scene, it feels almost mechanical. Indeed this is the film’s biggest flaw – because all of the setup is contained in a separate movie, it becomes very hard to invest emotionally in what is happening on screen.

The ultimate result of this is that the final stand-off between Harry’s Hogwarts Horde, and Voldemort’s forces of evil falls a little flat. The stakes are simply too low, and no amount of mad dashes through ornate corridors, energy blasts from wands, or even character deaths, no matter how well handled, can up them to a level where we feel truly engaged. That’s not to say the film isn’t without engaging moments, some sequences work very well, and peppered throughout are nice exchanges between extraordinarily well developed characters, but as a film it fails to maintain that throughout.

But of course it isn’t a film. It’s HALF a film. Consequently every issue identified in this review is a factor of how recently you watched Part One. If, like me it’s been several months, this it’s going to feel somewhat emotionless. If you only watched it recently then any, and possibly all of these criticisms should be only minor niggles for you at the very worst. That said, rather than risk feeling let down, find a cinema showing them both as a double bill, and enjoy one whole evening of Pottermania. Let’s face it; it’s your last chance.

These new banners show Harry Potter (Daniel Racliffe), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes).

After his Oscar nomination for The Social Network, the only place to go is up for Jesse Eisenberg.

He’ll soon be seen in the black comedy 30 Minutes or Less playing a stoner pizza delivery guy who is forced to rob a bank, but before that we can see him in the UK from this Friday (July 8th) in the gripping crime drama Holy Rollers, in which he plays a conflicted young Brooklyn Hasid who is seduced by a more worldly neighbour into becoming an international drug smuggler.

I spoke with Jesse when he was in London in February for the BAFTA Awards, and he was, unsurprisingly, a highly articulate and thoughtful interviewee.

Bobby Fischer was one of the most enigmatic personalities the game of chess has ever seen, and Liz Garbus’ film Bobby Fischer Against the World tells his story from his early years and noted proficiency with the game to the famous match with Soviet grandmaster Boris Spassky in 1972.

This clip has some of the little footage of the man himself, and hints at a man ill at ease with his fame and the pressure of being in the world’s spotlight. Dave posted a trailer for the film a few weeks ago and the film is out in UK cinemas on the 15th of July.

Holy Rollers makes its way to UK cinemas next Friday 8th July and to celebrate, Crabtree Films have sent over this brand new and exclusive clip from the movie which shows a great scene between two of the stars of the movie, Justin Bartha and Jesse Eisenberg. The clips gives you a little taster of what you can expect from the movie. Ian’s review will be up on the site shortly along with an exclusive interview with Eisenberg.

A charming neighbour, Yosef Zimmerman (Justin Bartha), senses Sam’s resistance and propositions him to transport ‘medicine’ for Jackie (Danny A. Abeckaser), an Israeli gangster and drug dealer, and his girlfriend, Rachel (Ari Graynor).

Sam quickly demonstrates his business skills to his boss, Jackie, who instantly takes him under his wing. Now exposed to the exciting and gritty worlds of the Manhattan and Amsterdam nightlife, Sam begins to spiral deeper into their detrimental lifestyle, experimenting with ecstasy and then falling for Rachel. As the business grows, Sam’s double life begins to rip his family apart and the community becomes suspicious of his illegal activities.
