In one quick swoop, Get A Job has instantly become a project I hadn’t heard of to something I’m already getting excited about. After an eight-year break from feature film directing, writer-director Dylan Kidd is attached to direct the comedy for CBS films, and an impressive cast is already lining up for him, Variety report, via Collider.

Miles Teller, whose credits include Rabbit Hole, Footloose, and the upcoming teen party movie Project X (the latest trailer for which you can see here), is in negotiations to star, and offers are also out to the lovely Anna Kendrick and the unstoppable Bryan Cranston, whose recent credits include Drive, Contagion, The Lincoln Lawyer, and the upcoming John Carter, Rock of Ages, Madagascar 3, and Ben Affleck’s Argo, all shot in the off-seasons of his critically acclaimed and Emmy Award-winning TV series, Breaking Bad.

Not only that, but a number of other great actors are circling the project too, including Christopher Mintz-Plasse, best known for his roles in Superbad and Kick-Ass, Saturday Night Live’s Jay Pharaoh, and a potential cameo from the ever-brilliant Jesse Eisenberg, who worked with Kidd back in 2002 on Roger Dodger (which, incidentally, has been re-released on DVD/Blu-Ray today).

“Story follows a college graduate and his friends who have to lower their expectations about life as they enter the real world during a recession.”

Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel wrote the original spec script which was picked up by CBS Films back in 2009, and it sounds like an interesting premise to me. Add to that a very intriguing cast, and you can see pretty easily why I’m already excited. No word yet on when production is expected to begin, but I’m hoping soon.

Like Cranston, Anna Kendrick has been incredibly prolific recently, with a brilliant turn in 50/50 last year, and more than half a dozen films in post-production due out this year, including the final film in The Twilight Saga, the drama/comedy What To Expect When You’re Expecting, and David Ayer’s crime drama End of Watch opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña, which I can’t wait for.

Kendrick, Cranston, and Teller all have fairly light schedules at the moment, so with a bit of luck, the project can be put into production in the very near future. More as we get it.

Laika Entertainment’s new 3D horror comedy ParaNorman wants you to know that even the misunderstood kids can be heroes with the release of its new one-sheet!

Directed by animation veterans Chris Butler and Sam Fell, and featuring the voices of Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road, Let Me In), Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air, Twilight Saga) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad, Kick-Ass), the film follows a quirky kid who can communicate with the dead and is thrust into a heroic situation when a curse puts his entire town in the middle of a zombie invasion.

You can see the lineage of co-director and writer Chris Butler here, with art department work on Coraline and Corpse Bride seemingly inspiring his first feature, co-directed with Sam Fell whose previous work includes The Tales of Despereaux and Flushed Away.

Yahoo debuted the trailer and if I’m honest, they had me at ‘Coraline’. There’s some excellent character designs here as well as some hints at the nastiness to come. With a solid voice cast and an intriguing visual style this looks like one to watch.

Comic Con has drawn to a close for the evening (at least it has for us as it’s now 2.45am!) and to end the night, here’s the extended clip from Fright Night whcih was shown during the panel introduced by former Dr. Who himself, David Tennant.

He’s something nice for the evening, it’s a nice new UK trailer for the remake of the 1985 classic, Fright Night although it comes courtesy of American website, Bloody Disgusting. It gives us another little look into the movie although if you want to go in knowing nothing about it, you might want to avoid this one as it gives rather a lot away. To me, it looks like a modern day Lost Boys so I’m game!

Fright Night is set to be released in both 2D and 3D on August 19, 2011.

Without doubt, one of my favourite films of the year was How to Train Your Dragon. It was announced what feels like ages ago that we could expect a sequel some time in 2013. Today, a press release comes from Dreamworks who produced the movie to announce that Jay Baruchel, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, TJ Miller and Kristen Wiig will all be returning as part of the voice cast under the ‘guidance’ of Dean DeBlois, Chris Sanders, and Bonnie Arnold.

DeBlois and Sanders directed the first movie based on the books by Cressida Cowell and this time it appears that DeBlois will be writing the script for the movie and directing on his own.

We also get to find out that the movie will appear in 3d just like the first movie and I cannot wait!

All-Star Cast & Original Filmmakers Return for Sequel

(Nasdaq: DWA) today announced plans to bring the epic action-adventure of Hiccup and his courageous Viking tribe as well as Toothless and the other beloved dragon characters on the Island of Berk back to the big screen in 3D with the sequel to How to Train Your Dragon in 2013.

The second chapter to the critically acclaimed 2010 blockbuster, How to Train Your Dragon – which has grossed nearly $500 million at the worldwide box office – will again feature the all-star voice talents of Jay Baruchel, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, TJ Miller and Kristen Wiig.

How to Train Your Dragon, the tale of a young Viking named Hiccup who defies tradition and befriends a dragon, has impressed critics and mesmerized audiences around the globe. Among the top ten films of 2010 and one of the best-reviewed movies of the year, How to Train Your Dragon is scheduled to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 15, 2010.

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Mark Millar was probed on the direction he planned to take his Kick-Ass sequel.

Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Walls debuted in CLiNT magazine earlier this month and, while the sequel has alledgedly been greenlit, production is still likely months away.

While we already largely know what’s in store for Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl, it is only now that Millar has revealed his plans for resident evil Red-Mist.

It’s gangs going all over New York filming atrocities on their cell phones and putting them on the internet, trying to outdo each other, all at the behest of Red Mist. My idea for Red Mist was to introduce a supervillain that made Heath Ledger’s Joker look like Cesar Romero’s Joker. He’s basically Charles Manson as a supervillain.

Chris said to me he hates the fact that people always call him McLovin’. So my aim was to give him a new name for people to call him. And the villain calls himself The Motherfucker. Chris is The Motherfucker, the worst of all supervillains.

But at the same time we continue the story of Dave and all the complications in his life as he gets deeper and deeper into this dangerous hobby he’s got where he dresses up as a superhero and gets beaten up every night. So he forms a gang and what you’ve got then is all the heroes versus all the villians in a big gangfight.

So Kick-Ass is going dark, but hopefully not too serious. The source material is, after all, subtitled Balls to the Walls.

An unofficial picture of David Tennant in Fright Night has made it’s way online, via /Film.

Tennant plays Peter Vincent, the role previously inhabited by Roddy McDowell, in an updated version of Tom Holland’s classic horror-thriller about a teenager who discovers his neighbours are vampires.

Fright Night will be directed by Craig Gillespie and also star Toni Collette, Colin Farrell, Imogen Poots, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Anton Yelchin.

We here at HeyUGuys are big fans of Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass, so when we were given the chance to use the costume actually worn by Aaron Johnson in the film we decided we had to make something special.

A few weeks ago we took to the streets of London, with our Editor Dave Sztypuljak gamely adorned in the Kick-Ass suit to make the video you can see below.

With the DVD of Kick-Ass hitting the streets across the pond tomorrow The New York Post have given us a peek inside the extra features with a look at the crimson caped crusader – Red Mist.

Christopher Mintz-Plasse did a great job in the film as the wayward rich kid who takes up the fight alongside Aaron Johnson’s Kick-Ass and the fact that this film didn’t do the business it should have in the States is kind of a sore point, so I’m hoping that our American cousins give this film a chance on DVD.

With news of a sequel leaking out I think it’s time to reignite the homemade superhero flame and enjoy Kick-Ass all over again.

We’ve just been sent these rather cool top trump style Kick-Ass art cards which will be included within the Blu ray copy of Kick-Ass when it’s released later on this year.

More excellent casting news from the Craig Gillespie directed remake of the 1985 fangfest Fright Night as the names of David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are thrown into the ring.

UK readers will know Tennant from his time in Doctor Who, for which he was accorded the status of national treasure, and Mintz-Plasse knocked McLovin’ into the past when he donned the tights as Red Mist in Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass.

They join Toni Collette, Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell to complete the cast in what could have been just another soulless 80s remake, but is now shaping up to be something special.

HeatVision spilled the casting beans, and here’s who Tennant and Mintz-Plasse will play in the film,

Tennant will play Peter Vincent, a character who in the original movie was played by Roddy McDowall as the host of a late-night horror show. In the remake, he’s a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery. Vincent claims to be a vampire expert, but when the teen turns to him for assistance, he’s less than helpful.

Mintz-Plasse is playing Evil Ed, Yelchin’s friend who feels slighted that Charlie has left his nerdy past behind and thus joins the vampire’s coven.

I’m hoping that they won’t have Tennant mugging at the camera in the way he sometimes did on Doctor Who – he’s a far more capable actor than that, and in the right hands he could make a splash across the pond.

And I love an excuse to show off the original poster again…

If you’ve not seen Matthew Vaughn’s movie, Kick-Ass, I implore you to get down to your local multiplex to watch it before it leaves it’s place in the cinema. It in my top three movies of the year so far along with Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon (slightly different genres I know!).

The sequel to the highly controversial movie will be called Kick Ass: Balls to the Wall and Mark Millar (who wrote the first comic book at the same time the movie was being made) has stated that production for the movie should begin next year.

If you’ve seen the first movie, you’ll know that Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s character, Red Mist had everything he knew and loved taken away from him so we’re pretty sure that the storyline will focus on him becoming the ‘Big Daddy’ in his father’s (Mark Strong) empire.

I’ve been championing this movie for ages now. I the unfinished version earlier this year and it was fantastic. I really can’t wait to see it again. Yesterday morning The Gala screening of ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ took place in London.
