Vanessa Hudgens (Sucker Punch) and Brendan Fraser (The Mummy) are in advanced talks to star in indie drama Gimme Shelter.

Gimme Shelter centers on a pregnant, homeless teen (Hudgens) who flees her abusive mother and seeks out her biological father (Fraser). He first takes her in but then throws her out when she refuses to abort her child.

Ron Krauss (Rave) is writing and directing the film, which is expected to start production next month in Connecticut.

Krauss, Jeff Rice (The Watcher) and Dama Claire (Conviction) will produce.

Hudgens can currently be seen in Beastly, while Fraser’s next film, Whole Lotta Sole, will be released later this year.

Paramount have just sent us the brand new UK poster, trailer, and an awesome batch of new images from their new movie, Beastly which stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alex Pettyfer, Mary-Kate Olsen and Neil Patrick Harris and is directed by Daniel Barnz.

The movie is released in the UK 22nd April.

Synopsis: Seventeen year old Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) is the spoiled, shallow and incredibly popular prince of his high school kingdom. Entirely captivated and empowered by his own physical appearance, Kyle foolishly chooses Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen), a witch masquerading as a high school student, as his latest target for humiliation. Unfazed by his cruel behaviour, Kendra decides to teach him a lesson – she transforms him into someone as unattractive on the outside as he is on the inside. Now he has one year to find someone who can see past the surface and love him, or he will remain “Beastly” forever. His only hope, a quiet classmate he never noticed named Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens), may be his best chance to prove that love is never ugly.

Beastly is released in the US this coming Friday and to coincide, Apple have released this new clip of the film which shows just why Alex Pettyfer’s character ends up being turned into something, well, Beastly!

A big heads up to fans of the fantasy romance morality tale genre, because we’ve got three new high resolution pictures and a new international trailer for Beastly to feast your eyes upon.

Based on Alex Flinn’s 2007 novel of the same name, Beastly is a teen romance all about false surfaces and inner beauty. Telling the story of high school jerk Kyle Kingson (Alex Pettyfer), the film shows how his shallow view of looks is challenged after he shuns school goth, Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen), prompting her to put a spell on him that warps his pretty boy appearance. The only cure, Kendra tells him, is to find somebody that will love him as he is, but will Kyle ever be able to put his personal development ahead of physical appearance?

Add a blind tutor played by Neil Patrick Harris and a love interest played by Vanessa Hudgens and you’ve got a modern retelling of the classic Beauty And The Beast story. Written and directed by Daniel Barnz, the film is due for release in America on March 18th and in the UK on April 15th.

I can’t work this one out. At first and second glances you can almost feel the Twilight bandwagon creaking under the weight of yet another film jumping on, with the mixture of supernatural creeps and the unnaturally pretty people not surprisingly being compared to the Vampire saga. Yet, I have a hope that there’s something a little better hiding beneath the surface.

Beastly is a modern day retelling of the Beauty and the Beast story written and directed by Daniel Barnz with Stormbreaker Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens graduating from High School to make it as one of our two leads.

We’ve seen an uninspired poster, then twenty seven seconds of an equally spiritless teaser trailer and now we get a proper look at what’s in store for our beauty and her beast. It’s Neil Patrick Harris playing darts. Game on.

Beastly, hoping to capitalise on Twi-Hards desperate for a supernatural fix in between Twilight instalments, is a modern re-telling of the classic fairytale, Beauty and the Beast.

In an attempt to capitalize on the success of the teen-centric Twilight Saga, a 23 second teaser trailer for Beastly has been released and, even though it is exceptionally short, it is quite possibly one of the worst film promos I have ever seen. It’s the kind of bad where you laugh unintentionally at the voice-over. The teaser actually makes this big budget theatrical release look more like a TV movie or even a TV series.

Adapted from Alex Flinn’s 2007 novel of the same, Beastly is a re-imagining of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast set in modern day New York (which by the way has previously been done in the Beauty and the Beast TV series starring Ron Perlman). Written and directed by Daniel Barnz, Beastly stars Alex Pettyfer (Stormbreaker) in the lead role (who apparently only needs to shave his head, sport some odd tattoos, and get a few facial scars and prosthetics to become the beast), Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) as the love interest, and Mary-Kate Olsen (New York Minute) as the girl who is responsible for transforming a cruel young man into the beast.
