Disney have just posted a full 90 seconds from the score / soundtrack of Tron: Legacy on their official UK Facebook Fan page. This news comes just a couple of days after Disney announced ‘Tron Night’ where they’re going to air 20 minutes of the movie across the country at IMAX cinemas.

This new poster (below) is being teased on the official Soundtrack website which you can see here and it’s slowly being completed as time goes onto the release of the soundtrack on 6th December. We also get to see the first decent image of the duo with the digital grid behind them.

Tron Legacy stars Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner, James Frain, Beau Garrett, Michael Sheen and is directed by Joseph Kosinski (see our interview with him here).

As excitement and anticipation builds for the forthcoming sequel to 1982’s cult hit Tron, the film’s official soundtrack website has been unveiled.

As many of you will already know, French electro superstars Daft Punk are on scoring duties here, and will even make a cameo appearance in the film, playing two DJ’s in a nightclub scene (and dressed as their robot alter egos!).

A few tracks have been leaked already to much praise, and I’m sure fans of the group’s retro-digital sounds (me included) are looking forward to seeing and hearing what could potentially be a perfect marriage between movie and music.

Tron Legacy is released on 17th December, and although the date to buy/download the soundtrack has yet to be confirmed, it will probably be available sometime in early December.

Audiophiles rejoice, for today it was announced that the mighty Pixar/Disney are to team with Dolby Laboratories to create a new audio experience to tie in with the blockbusting Toy Story 3, due out in cinemas in June.

Variety had the story here and this collaboration can be seen as further proof of the aggressive investment the studios are pursuing to enhance the cinema experience and if this pans out the way Dolby are hoping it will

allow for a more comprehensive mix of audio and visual 3D elements, as well as a more exciting sensory experience to audiences for 2D.

There’s a fairly anaemic press statement from Dolby in the Variety article, and a few basic technical specs concerning cinemas which will take advantage, but with 3D visuals the move towards as close to 3D audio is clearly the next logical step. 7.1 has been a staple of home cinema for a while now, and I well remember my introduction to surround sound in the cinemas, it is an effect which still impresses today.

With Disney’s latest, Alice in Wonderland, riding high on the global box office chart and raking in the cash from 3D screens, Toy Story 3 may be their next record breaker. We are extremely excited about the whole affair and if we get to experience it in 7.1 sound then all the better.

Last week HeyUGuys were invited to a round table interview with James Purefoy, star of Rome, Ironclad and Solomon Kane.

During the course of the interview Purefoy went into a great deal of detail about Solomon Kane, talking about how the story came about, the difficulties of filming in Eastern Europe during the winter, and some of the unfortunate accidents that happened on set, when overworked actors are asked to go hell for leather with big , shiny swords.

He also discussed Ironclad, John Carter of Mars and who would win in a fight between Kane and Conan.

The interview is embedded in full* below. As well as myself and Purefoy, the other voices you will hear are David from Geek Syndicate, and Rob from Orange Film. There may be the occasional piece of strong language, but nothing shocking.

Academy Award nominated movie, A Single Man is released in the UK tomorrow and I can’t wait to see it. Jon saw it a while ago and you can read his review here. We’ve got a special treat as our friend James Kleinmann managed to get interviews with some of the main cast and Director, Tom Ford, all of which you can listen to below.

The cast includes Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode, Ginnifer Goodwin, Nicholas Hoult, Ryan Simpkins and Paulette Lamori.

Synopsis: Set in Los Angeles in 1962, at the height of the Cuban missile crisis, ‘A SINGLE MAN’ is the story of George Falconer, a 52-year-old British college professor (COLIN FIRTH) who is struggling to find meaning to his life after the death of his long time partner, Jim (MATTHEW GOODE). George dwells on the past and cannot see his future as we follow him through a single day, where a series of events and encounters, ultimately leads him to decide if there is a meaning to life after Jim. George is consoled by his closest friend Charley (JULIANNE MOORE), a 48-year-old beauty who is wrestling with her own questions about the future. A young student of George’s, Kenny (NICHOLAS HOULT), who is coming to terms with his true nature, stalks George as he feels in him a kindred spirit.

Last week HeyUGuys were lucky enough to get invited along to the press conference for Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Here’s some more news if you can’t wait to ‘hear’ more from Alice in Wonderland  The brand new soundtrack listing for Tim Burton’s latest movie, has been released to the world via MySpace. The Album is going to be called ‘Almost Alice’ and will feature tracks from the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Avril Lavigne, The All-American Rejects, Owl City+ many more. There’s  also be a collaboration between Mark Hoppus and Pete Wentz too.

Head on over to MySpace for further info. According to the site, it’ll be available to buy 2nd March (I don’t know if this will be the same in the UK).

Yesterday, Jon was lucky enough to see Where the Wild Things Are. His review is here, and to whet your appetite our friend James Kleinmann has been lucky enough to catch up with the cast and director, Spike Jonze and collected these great audio interviews.

James also interviewed with the child star of the movie with the coolest name in the world, Max Records and Producer, Vincent Landay about what it was that he admired about Spike Jonze’s vision to create this movie.

Our friend James Kleinmann has been at it again and this time has scored an interview with lead actor, Gerard Butler from his new movie, Law Abiding Citizen which is out next Friday (27th November) in UK Cinemas.

Synopsis: Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is an honest, upstanding family man.  Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx) is an ambitious young prosecutor working for a safer Philadelphia.

When Clyde’s wife and young daughter are brutally murdered, Nick is assigned to the case.  On the verge of sentencing, Nick sensationally cuts a deal with one of the killers, sparing him from death row.

Ten years later, the man who got away with murder is found dead.  Clyde Shelton coolly admits his guilt before issuing a warning to Nick; either fix the flawed justice system that failed his family or key players in the trial will pay the price.

OK, please forgive us Twilight haters, but we’re trying to get into the spirit of what could be the biggest film of 2010 (until Avatar comes along?) in the form of Twilight New Moon which is unleashed onto the public this Friday, 20th November.

If you’re a big fan of Twilight: New Moon and from what we can tell, there a quite a few of you out there who are, we know that you not only love the cast and the movies themselves but also the soundtrack. In my opinion, other than the baseball scene in the original movie, ‘Twilight’, the soundtrack was one of the best things about it!Bt what do I know eh?!

Anyway, the Twilight: New Moon official Myspace page has just been updated to have the brand new soundtrack for New Moon which you can listen to for nothing here (just scroll on past the trailer). ENJOY!
