Earlier today I had the chance to talk to Noel Sharkey PhD DSc FIEE FBCSCITP FRIN FRSA, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at Sheffield university.

During our conversation, which was organised to promote the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Terminator Salvation, the professor and I discussed the possibility of a Skynet-type system taking over, the impact of Hollywood on the public opinion of technology, and what inspired Sharkey to get involved in robotics in the first place.
