Summit Entertainment Land Themselves In Area 52

StumbleUponRedditPinterestShare

Summit Entertainment – the studio behind the Twilight saga and last year’s RED – has acquired the rights to Area 52, Image Comics’ four-issue mini-series from 2001, slating Steven C. Miller to direct.

Set in Antarctica, Brian Haberlin’s comic details the attempts of a ragtag group of exiled misfits to avert apocalypse, using the complex’s assorted otherworldly weapons and artefacts to defeat an alien killing-machine hatched in captivity.

According to Deadline, Summit are preparing to send the property, to be filmed in live-action, out to writers, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian looking set to produce, and J.C. Spink executive producing courtesy of Benderspink.
