Staggering First Poster for The Dark Knight Rises Hits

The-Dark-Knight-Rises-PosterWarner Bros. Pictures have released the first official poster for The Dark Knight Rises, and it’s nothing short of mind-blowing.

Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight Rises is the third instalment in the hugely successful revitalised Batman franchise, and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Marion Cotillard and Liam Neeson.

The poster is evidently an advancement on the style adopted for The Dark Knight and Inception, with Nolan once again upping his game. That said, it’s understated enough to keep the air of mystery surrounding the threequel perfectly intact.

The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to hit UK cinemas on July 20, 2012, with a teaser trailer said to be attached to prints of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which opens this weekend.
