Spring-Breakers-UK-Quad-Poster-BlueHarmony Korine’s Spring Breakers is less than a month from hitting the big screen in the US, and if you haven’t already, then you should definitely make plans to go see it when it lands towards the end of March.

The film was one of my favourite that I saw at TIFF last September, and I’m looking forward to seeing it again in the spring.

We’ve recently been treated to a great new red-band trailer, and saw a new teaser poster land earlier today. And now Vertigo, the Spring Breakers distributor on our shores, have released a new UK trailer, courtesy of MSN. And, naturally, it’s red-band in nature, so unsuitable viewing for work.

“Brit, Candy, Cotty, and Faith have been best friends since grade school. They live together in a boring college dorm and are hungry for adventure. All they have to do is save enough money for spring break to get their shot at having some real fun. A serendipitous encounter with rapper “Alien” promises to provide the girls with all the thrill and excitement they could hope for. With the encouragement of their new friend, it soon becomes unclear how far the girls are willing to go to experience a spring break they will never forget.”

Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine lead the young female quartet, with James Franco giving an equally awesome performance opposite as the gangster/rapper, Alien.

Korine is once more directing from his own script, with Skrillex and Cliff Martinez (Drive, Contagion) collaborating on the fantastic score that is the Spring Breakers soundtrack.

Skrillex’s Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites introduces the film itself, and has been used to brilliant effect in the trailer below. It’s an amazing song, and definitely worth your time after watching this latest trailer.

Spring Breakers will be released in the US on 22nd March, with its UK release date set for 5th April. This is definitely one that will have people talking.

And because it’s so good, here’s Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, which sets the tone brilliantly in the opening scene of Spring Breakers. Enjoy.
