Eva-GreenRobert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has been quickly assembling an awesome cast in recent months, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Josh Brolin joining this month in leading roles.

More recently, the ever-brilliant Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, and Juno Temple have boarded the film. And now Dimensions have announced that the great Eva Green has been cast as the film’s femme fatale lead, Ava Lord.

“Rodriguez and [Frank] Miller said, “We’ve been wanting to tell this story for a very long time.  Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City.  From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green.  We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us.””

Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, and Jaime King are all reprising their roles from the original film. And starring alongside them will be Gordon-Levitt, Brolin, Piven, Liotta, Temple, Dennis Haysbert, Jamie Chung, Julia Garner, and now Green.

Most recently seen in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, Green has made a big name for herself in recent years, well known for her role in Casino Royale. She seems perfectly adept at embodying both sides of the good-bad line, which is exactly what you need for a femme fatale.

Green will next be seen in Noam Murro’s 300: Rise of an Empire, and also has Gregg Araki’s White Bird in a Blizzard in post-production on her slate.

Filming has been underway out at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Texas, and we can look forward to seeing it arrive this fall / autumn.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will be released on 4th October, and smart money says it’s going to be one of the best films you’ll see this year.
