Runner Runner has been one of my most anticipated films of the year ever since it was first announced. With Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck leading the cast, and Brad Furman behind the camera, there’s no way this is anything but awesome.
In the past few weeks, we’ve been treated to two brilliant trailers, along with the first posters for the film last week. And now Fox have released the new UK quad poster, which slightly expands on the US one-sheet that surfaced recently.
Princeton grad student Richie, believing he’s been swindled, travels to Costa Rica to confront online gambling tycoon Ivan Block. Richie is seduced by Block’s promise of immense wealth, until he learns the disturbing truth about his benefactor. When the FBI tries to coerce Richie to help bring down Block, Richie faces his biggest gamble ever: attempting to outmaneuver the two forces closing in on him.
Gemma Arterton completes the leading trio nicely, with Timberlake, Affleck, and Arterton starring alongside Anthony Mackie, Oliver Cooper, Ben Schwartz, David Costabile, and Sam Palladio.
Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) is directing from a script co-written by Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Rounders, Ocean’s Thirteen), with the two producing alongside Scott Steindorff and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Runner Runner will be hitting cinemas in the US and UK on September 27th, which is definitely a release date you’ll want to start committing to memory. As I’ve already said, this is definitely going to be awesome.
