Runner Runner sees Brad Furman returning to the helm for the first time since the acclaimed The Lincoln Lawyer, and he’s assembled another stellar cast to work with.
Justin Timberlake, Ben Affleck, and Gemma Arterton take the lead for the crime-drama, which is just a few weeks away from its release on both sides of the Atlantic. And with its release so close on the horizon, a handful of new images have surfaced of the leading trio.
Princeton grad student Richie, believing he’s been swindled, travels to Costa Rica to confront online gambling tycoon Ivan Block. Richie is seduced by Block’s promise of immense wealth, until he learns the disturbing truth about his benefactor. When the FBI tries to coerce Richie to help bring down Block, Richie faces his biggest gamble ever: attempting to outmaneuver the two forces closing in on him.
Anthony Mackie, Oliver Cooper, Ben Schwartz, David Costabile, and Sam Palladio complete the cast nicely alongside Timberlake, Affleck, and Arterton.
Furman is directing from a script penned by Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Rounders, Ocean’s Thirteen), who have certainly penned some solid crime-oriented movies in the past. And with Leonardo DiCaprio and Scott Steindorff producing, things are certainly looking good.
Runner Runner will be released in the UK on 27th September, with its US release date set for a week later on October 4th. For now, here are the new images, which you can click through to enlarge.
