After getting a fantastic new trailer and poster back in August for Roman Polanski’s upcoming film, Carnage, we’ve now got the film’s terrific first clip to share with you, taking a look at the film’s four excellent cast members – Christoph Waltz, Kate Winslet, John C. Reilly, and Jodie Foster – sitting down to discuss the problem of their sons fighting each other.
I personally can’t wait to see Polanski’s foray into comedy, and everything we’ve seen so far from the film suggests it’s going to be a thoroughly enjoyable ride.
“A showdown between two kids: about eleven, in a local playground. Swollen lips, broken teeth… Now the parents of the “victim” have invited the parents of the “bully” to their apartment to sort if out. Cordial banter gradually develops a razor-sharp edge as all four parents reveal their laughable contradictions and grotesque prejudices. None of them will escape the ensuing carnage.”
This new clip, courtesy of Collider, finds the two couples – Waltz and Winslet, Reilly and Foster – discussing their boys’ troubles. I think Reilly is especially brilliant in this scene, with his enjoyment of the discovery that his song is in a gang really entertaining to watch.
The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival last month, and though it’s still got no UK release date, with a 16th December US release scheduled, hopefully we will be seeing it either at the end of this year or the start of next. Without further ado, here’s the great first clip to enjoy. The volume’s a little low on this one, so you may need to turn your speakers up.
