On January 24, two of cinema’s most iconic screen legends, Robert DeNiro and Sylvester Stallone, square off in the boxing comedy Grudge Match.  DeNiro plays Billy “The Kid” McDonnen opposite Stallone’s Henry “Razor” Sharp, two retired boxers who harbor a deep resentment for each other.  They get the chance to finally bury the hatchet when they are lured back into the ring 30 years later for one last, bloody bout.

We sat down with both Mr. Stallone and Mr. DeNiro in New York City to talk about the film.  Both actors talk about reuniting since their last film together — the 1997 police corruption thriller Cop Land — and retraining for the ring since their roles in Rocky and Raging Bull.

We also talked about the possibility of Robert DeNiro showing up in an Expendables movie, and the status of I Heard You Paint Houses, the long-gestating mob thriller that would see DeNiro reteam with Martin Scorsese, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino.

Check out the full interview below, and also check out our interviews with the rest of the cast including Kevin Hart, Alan Arkin and Kim Basinger.

Grudge Match hits UK cinemas January 24th.
