RED 2 returns us to the brilliant world of Bruce Willis, high-stakes espionage, and comic action, first brought to the big screen back in 2010 in RED.
Due out this summer, we got our first official look at the film late last year, following an early teaser poster that surfaced over the summer.
And with the blockbuster release date looming, Summit have debuted the first teaser trailer over at Apple, along with a new teaser poster.
“In RED 2, the high-octane action-comedy sequel to the worldwide sleeper hit, retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they’ll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon. The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.”
Willis reprises his role alongside the excellent Mary-Louise Parker, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, and Brian Cox, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Lee Byung-hun, Neal McDonagh, and David Thewlis completing the cast nicely for the second time around.
Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Fun with Dick and Jane) is taking over at the helm, with brothers Erich and Jon Hoeber penning the script once more.
RED 2 will be hitting the big screen on 2nd August in the UK and US, and we can’t wait for its arrival. The original film is nothing but brilliant, and there’s every reason to expect the sequel will be raising the stakes that much higher.
