Ralph Fiennes

Sam Mendes and John Logan made arguably the best Bond movie yet with Skyfall, and when the decision was made to retire Judie Dench’s character, both old and new fans alike were quick to praise the choice of Ralph Fiennes as M.

With both him and the new Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) confirmed for the currently untitled Bond 24, a new era is upon us, and while Fiennes knows nothing about the plot, he has revealed when filming begins!

“It’s meant to start shooting in October,” the actor told MTV while promoting Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel. “I haven’t read a script yet, so I can’t tell you much. They’d probably swear me to secrecy anyway.” Thankfully, the new M isn’t too secretive, and we at least now that casting news should start dropping this summer as pre-production begins.

Daniel Craig will be returning for his fourth outing as James Bond, although master cinematographer Roger Deakins sadly won’t be back. Bond 24 is currently set to be released on November 6th, 2015, so they’ll have around a year to work on the follow-up to the first ever $1 billion Bond. No pressure then!
