Peter Jackson Invites us Back to the Shire for Another Production Video from The Hobbit

Another peep behind the Hobbiton curtain tonight as Peter Jackson continues his video journal of the production of The Hobbit: There and Back Again, one of the year’s most anticipated films.

These pre-DVD extras are full of Jackson’s boundless ehtusiasm for the world created by Tolkien and in this video we get to see some of the locations and props used in the film.

Martin Freeman takes on the role of Bilbo Baggins and other new faces include James Nesbitt and Richard Armitage who are joined by returning cast members, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Elijah Wood and, of course, Andy Serkis as Gollum.

    I love these videos. It’s such a great insight into the process of making a really large-scale film. :)

     Couldn’t agree more. So often there’s an impenetrable wall put up around massive scale film productions – Peter Jackson are embracing the fans in this way and controlling the flow of information. And he looks like he loves doing them too.
