Paul Verhoeven’s New Feature Eternal is Dead Sexy

Deadline are reporting that Paul Verhoeven is set to direct his work US feature since 2000’s Hollow Man with erotic supernatural thriller, Eternal.

From a script by David Loughery (Lakeview Terrace, Obsessed), Eternal follows a married man and recovering alcoholic who manages to talk a woman down from throwing herself off the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The pair embarks on a passionate affair, but he soon makes the shocking discovery that she’s after his soul, not a soulmate.

Sounds like Verhoeven is playing it safe and judging from the plot details here, we could have another trashy, yet thoroughly entertaining feature on his hands – think Basic Instinct meets Ghost, with the saucy content from Showgirls thrown in for good measure.
