New Trailer for Kristen Stewart’s Latest Movie puts us Firmly ‘On The Road’

Many eager eyes have been on The  Facebook page for the new Walter Salles film, On The Road, and they have all been rewarded with a new trailer for the film.

Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley lead the cast of Salles’s adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s acclaimed novel, a few images and a poster were released only last week in order to light the anticipatory fires, fans of Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen will be pleased to know that their favourites also have a place in the film

The young cast certainly has the pulling power and Salles’s work with The Motorcycle Diaries could be seen as the most obvious foreshadowing of his latest work, however with a novel that is so steeped into popular culture there’s a great opportunity to bring this story to a new generation. I didn’t mean to sound like a PR machine then, but you get the idea…

Here’s your trailer.

On the Road is the greatest piece of American literature that there has ever been. And even with this trailer (that really doesn’t capture the atmosphere of the generation) I can’t see this being good source material for an adapted movie.

So excited about this! They did an amazing job so far. Had no idea what it would look like, but my skepticism is replaced with pure joy! Wonderful!

I love Kerouac and On the Road(still think it’s one of his weaker works overall though, his poetry was stronger). But I’m telling you right now–kerouac WANTED this to be adapted to the screen. I get people love it so much, they don’t want to see it ruined cinematically. But at the same time, who wants to let it get dusty on its pedestal either? I say bring on the adaption. If it sucks, we can all move on quickly and forget about it. If it’s good or satisfying though? Well, it was worth the challenge.
