Thor-The-Dark-World-LogoWith Iron Man 3 kicking off Marvel’s Phase Two in the spring, the next film on the slate is very much underway, with the production shooting Thor: The Dark World here in the UK in recent weeks.

The latest to emerge from the set is a video of a stunt, giving us a little tease of the action we have to look forward to from the upcoming blockbuster, due out in Autumn / Fall 2013, and we can’t wait for it to hit.

“Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World,” in theaters November 8, 2013, continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.”

Chris Hemsworth will be reprising his leading role as the eponymous hero, alongside Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Tadanobu Asano, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Stellan Skarsgård, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Rene Russo, with Stan Lee making his usual cameo.

Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) is taking the helm in Kenneth Branagh’s place, directing from a script co-written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Christopher Yost (The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes).

Thor: The Dark World will be hitting the big screen in 3D on 8th November, 2013, as the second instalment in Phase Two following the immensely anticipated Iron Man 3. I can’t wait for either of them, and for all that will be following beyond them. In the meantime, here’s the new video from the set.
