Having just got a new trailer for Ice Age: Continental Drift yesterday parodying Michel Hazanavicius’ The Artist, we now have three fantastic new images from the film showcasing Scrat in his usual perilous situations on his quest for the almighty acorn.

Co-directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier, the fourth film has its usual brilliant line-up of actors and actresses lending their voice to the film, including Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Chris Wedge, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Peter Dinklage, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, and Alan Tudyk.

“Scrat’s nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he’s been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences – a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.”

Ice Age: Continental Drift will be released in 2D and 3D on 6th July here in the UK, before heading across the ocean to the US a week later on 13th July. (My personal favourite is the first of the skeletal saber-toothed squirrel seemingly pointing the way to the acorn. Brilliant stuff!)
