This-Is-40-PosterThis Is 40 sees Judd Apatow’s anticipated return with the sort-of sequel to 2007’s Knocked Up.

The film is being given an awards-weighted release in the US, just in time for Christmas, with Universal campaigning across all categories for it.

Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann star in the leads this time around, and after recently catching two new featurettes to remind us of their original roles, we’ve got a new featurette for another familiar face, centring on Jason Segel’s return as Jason.

“Writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) brings audiences This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see firsthand how they are dealing with their current state of life.”

Starring alongside Rudd, Mann, and Segel is an excellent cast, headed up by Maude and Iris Apatow, Albert Brooks, Chris O’Dowd, John Lithgow, Melissa McCarthy, and the brilliant Lena Dunham.

Apatow is once more directing from his own script, and serves as producer as well alongside past collaborators Barry Mandel (Serenity, Bridesmaids) and Clayton Townsend (Knocked Up, Bridesmaids).

This Is 40 will be hitting theatres in the US on 21st December, in plenty of time for both Christmas and the Oscar nominations a few weeks later. Here in the UK, the film is due out on 14th February, in perfect time for the Valentine’s weekend. And by that time, we’ll know if Universal’s campaign has been successful in securing any nominations. For now, here’s the new featurette, giving us another great look at Jason Segel’s Jason. Enjoy.
