Zac-Efron-in-NeighborsIf you loved This Is The End this summer, and any/all of the comedy work Seth Rogen has ever done, then you’re going to love this. The first red-band trailer for Nicholas Stoller’s Neighbors has landed online, and it is brilliant.

Due out in the summer next year, the R-rated comedy – previously known as Townies – stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, and Rose Byrne in the leading trio. And if the film is anywhere near as good as this trailer makes it look, then Universal are likely to have a huge hit on their hands next year.

A couple with a newborn baby face unexpected difficulties after they are forced to live next to a fraternity house.

Starring alongside the leading trio will be Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jake Johnson, Jason Mantzoukas, Craig Roberts, Ike Barinholtz, and Lisa Kudrow.

Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) is directing from a script penned by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, both of whom make their feature debuts with the movie.

Neighbors is set to be released in the US on May 9th, 2014. The UK release date looks to be set for 7th March next year, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see that pushed back in the coming months to fall more in line with the Stateside release. (But here’s to hoping it doesn’t, because the sooner the better for this one.) For now, here’s the brilliant first trailer, and a final reminder that this is red-band, so entirely unsuitable for work. Enjoy.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
