Agents-of-S.H.I.E.L.D.-Cast-PhotoIt’s currently all go across the Atlantic surrounding the fate of new and old television series alike, and one of the sure things we’ve been expecting is a full series order from ABC for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

And now it has officially been confirmed. The programme, which will see Clark Gregg reprise his role as the beloved Agent Coulson from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been arguably the most anticipated show being developed, and the network has announced that the pilot has been ordered to series. And with it comes a new logo, via EW, along with the first official cast photo.

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Gregg is joined by a great cast, led by Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Brett Dalton, Eliazabeth Henstridge, and Chloe Bennet.

Joss Whedon, himself, has been developing the pilot and programme alongside his brother Jed Whedon and past collaborator Maurissa Tanchareon (Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog).

ABC are set to debut the first Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. promo tonight, during the series finale of Once Upon a Time. And here’s to hoping it will surface (in an official form) very soon after.
