Agents-of-S.H.I.E.L.D.-LogoWith the full series order officially coming in over the weekend, things are looking awesome for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the studio’s first live-action foray onto the small screen.

As promised, ABC aired the first promo for the pilot during the series finale of Once Upon a Time. And now it’s surfaced online, giving us an awesome first look at what promises to be one of the most exciting new programmes soon to be hitting our TVs.

Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker); brilliant engineer and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet).

From Executive Producers Joss Whedon (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” ”Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” pilot co-writers (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog”); Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”); and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville”) comes Marvel’s first TV series. “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Following his immense work steering The Avengers to global success, Joss Whedon returns here for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., working alongside past collaborators Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog).

Whilst the programme is expected to exist at a relative distance from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we do know that Clark Gregg will be reprising his role as the much-loved Agent Coulson as a leading part of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

And he’ll be joined by Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Brett Dalton, Eliazabeth Henstridge, and Chloe Bennet.

Iron Man 3 has kicked off Phase Two in the Cinematic Universe absolutely brilliantly in recent weeks, dominating box offices around the globe, and we’ve still got Thor: The Dark World to look forward to before the year’s end. And with the theatrical side of the studio’s output doing so well, we can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store for us with this small screen debut. To give you a little taster of what to expect, here’s the first promo for the new programme. Everyone else looking forward to this as much as we are
